Great episodes again this week, really just leaves you wanting more and more.

Drunk Bernie is my spirit animal.

 

I’ve been loving it so much this week. Half of it’s ridiculous but it doesn’t matter at all, this is what EE is all about.

Maybe this will now lead to stacey and denise agreeing to share their man!!

Let's remember that their fingerprints are ALL OVER the celotape and tarp. That's it. Game over, if the show wants to TRY and be realistic. It really should have been a stoetline about the effects of fuikt and trauma and that's it. Maybe find him in 20 years etc, if ever.

If you want absolute realism, the soap genre is not for you. It’s been said before and will be said again.

 

I’m loving the drama of it all. Sharon being so afraid of Karen that she inadvertently drops herself in it. Bernie telling her she’ll pay when the real murderer is standing right behind her. Brilliant.

 

Bernie and Felix are brilliant characters.

Bernie is iconic, it just goes to show how much a character can shine when they’re actually given something!

PLEASE can they start giving Bernie and Felix some good and meaningful storylines going forward? Both are so ridiculously underused.

They really do need to start using them more, as actors they have to be a little peed of with how little they get, that aside im just loving the drama of it all.

Realistically, their stories work - they struggle with money, go drinking, and have a few relationship things goin on. For their age griup, it's normal. It's realistic.

But Ian’s fingerprints at least will also be on the tarp! Possibly even Cindy’s, Peter’s, Bobby’s, any number of people may have touched it for whatever reason. It’s hardly conclusive.

 

I did think after Wednesday, they may set Dean up as a fall guy for the murder but not sure now.

Neither of them have had any love interests really? Felix not at all and wasn't Bernie's last one her storyline with Tiffany? I'd love to see that for Bernie in particular, although they have a decent amount of queer characters it's always felt lacking for the women, it's either someone for Sonia to have a short stint with or new characters that don't last very long (Iqra and Ash for example). Actually, we do have Eve and Suki at least but still, someone for Bernie would be nice. I think they thought Ben and Callum were enough :lol:

 

Also realism has never been the most important thing about a soap, if people wanted that they'd watch a documentary, it's about drama and entertaining storylines. Listening into cafe gossip has been the most Bernie's had for a good while until now so I'm glad they're making use of her.

Bernie and Felix are both excellent at the light relief/every day scenes-not everyone is (the last Johnny being a prime example) and yet they’ve also both proven they can do the strong/emotional scenes too so I’d like to see them get more. It is a worry that they’ll get axed if they continue to stay in the background.

 

I would have put Felix with Johnny already. There’s a lot of potential for drama down the road with their involvements in the Six storyline. There currently isn’t anyone to put with Bernie-they could do with plugging the young female queer gap they currently have in the show.

We're getting an hour long episode on 17th April, which will be the 10 year anniversary of Lucy's death.
