The Shapeshifters are best known for their UK #1 single Lola’s Theme from 2004, and some minor hits that followed the subsequent years. Most of their music has gone unnoticed since then, but they have remained an active since, but Shapeshifters is now just a one man project since Max Reich stepped away from the project in 2017. Seeing their name is a blast from the past.

Max Reich went to work as part of CLiQ if I recall correctly.

 

The Shapeshifters were relevant enough to get on the R2 playlist last year! I think he’s gone sort of disco now.

I only remember Lola's theme, did they have other hits?

they had back to basics and incredible both top 20 hits.

But since their #1 smash hit each and every single release has declined in quality and chart position too.

Pusher from 2007 is one of my favourite singles from them

Love this now I've heard it a couple of times on Radio 2

typical The Shapeshifters track and I missed it so much :wub:

Its not great, ive given it a few listens but cant warm to it.

Nice to see this iconic dance act is still going, they moved for a while away from their signature disco influenced house sound iirc a few years ago but have returned back to it more recently.
