Upset about Greenfroze, Pestolia and Flynnonda NQ... especially when Pestolia's entry is one of the biggest discoveries in this edition for me :(

Yay for Thelonia, a rather pretty song. Wholune's was cute as well. I'm surprised this one from TARO Bellamia got that close to qualifying to be honest, it was not bad but sounded quite no-hoper to my ears oops!

There wasn't much in it between my entire top 5 of semi 1 after second listen (funnily enough my ranking got closer with the relisten which is the opposite of what happened for semi 2) but of course they all qualified anyway so doesn't matter too much at this stage, glad I'll hear them all again in the final to have a more solid ranking.

 

Just remembered that Singerpurear were of course only one entrant away from getting an AQ so unfortunate for them to miss out, it wasn't quite 'Teenage Kicks' but this was pretty good as far as retro entries go. Glad that Utopia made it through at least in what was otherwise not a great result here for the rock entries.

 

Thanks for the hosting John. I do intend to finally post another update of the qualification streak list some time soon but I think I want to finish catching up with the EOY/YTD first - of course Hendinia's streak is still ongoing so they will still be #1 on there!

Ahh glad you liked it, if I've managed to introduce the song to a new fan then that's a good enough result for me!

I've just had a listen to the nul pointer. I don't know if I would have given it any points, not having listened to the other songs from that semi. It wasn't really crazy enough to get novelty song points from me so I would have only given it points if the standard of that semi was really low.

 

Ehm, not sure if it makes a difference (probably not) but my votes are not exactly like that ;)

 

I gave 8 to Aelandor, not Flynnonda and gave 1 to Pestolia (that one makes sense as my total is not 58).

I'm also aware that some of the totals are not 58? :thinking:

Simple formula error regarding in Semi 1, so all good there.

 

Fixed the error in your votes Frank - no change to who qualified, just changes the positions a little.

Does that mean Aelandor were only 1 point off qualifying then? I came really close to giving them 7 instead of 6 so that's an ouch if so (although I guess it'd have been a tiebreak then so they might have still missed out).

Delighted to have qualified. Never quite sure with me and rock in this contest, as I generally dislike >80% of rock songs which are entered there was always a chance of my taste just not meeting everyone elses!

 

Decent set of Semi 2 qualifiers. Aelandor the only one of my votes to have missed, can't remember what I gave it, 7 maybe?

 

As I was about to vote yesterday I realised I'd only listened to the Spotify playlist a couple of times and there was one that wasn't on it, it took about a minute to make me thing Seven was going for the 0 - I can't say it's not deserved, well done!

My 3 going to TARO Bellamia in that spreadsheet is also an error! (the song I did give 3 to qualified anyway so this also shouldn't affect anything but pointing out for the sake of accuracy)

jeez, that's 3 of the last 4 contests where I think 'this song is awesome and will certainly stand out, shouldn't have to worry about qualifying' (and this is perhaps the weirdest of the lot, I'm imagining it being announced as a country's Eurovision entry and it getting lapped up) and then it gets essentially NO fans in what should be a decently favourable semi for it. yes, it is the voters who are wrong x
