As i have said on others threads, 5,6,7,8 stands out in their songs as its not like anything else they have done and it was right they only went with that sound once, but it worked really really well and while it sounds like nothing else they have done since it is very very Steps.

And here we go with the shockers…

 

17. One for Sorrow

 

 

In my first shocker, we have One For Sorrow crashing out at 17. If it helps, any of my top 17 could have been number 1, that’s how strong I find their best material! I always remember watching this video on the MTV select show thing - can’t remember what it’s called now. This was the first time I sat up and paid attention to Steps.

That is a bit of a shock, great song though. Still not sure why the official video isn't on Steps official YouTube channel.

Yeah, it’s made more strange by the fact they have the official video for the remix on there. It’s the same on iTunes.

Thats strange as it was a big hit so maybe they are planning something.

16. It’s The Way You Make Me Feel

 

 

I get it, it just isn’t for me as much as it is for some of you guys! I love the fact everyone sings on this, and I love Claire’s ad-libs/notes at the end… but if I didn’t hear it again, I can’t say I’d be fussed. But as I said, I appreciate that everything within my Top 17/18 is banger central, it’s just that I go to other songs of theirs more often.

Very different outcome with One For Sorrow and It's The Way You Make Me Feel not in the top ranking songs.

Its refreshing to see its the way you make me feel and one for sorrow revealed so early, i know most people here rank both songs high but James you have probably placed them closest to where i would place them myself.

15. Neon Blue

 

 

Neon Blue is a really emotional one for me. I really do feel these lyrics speak to me after a long period of mental health issues and self-deprecation. For a long time, I would listen to this and just cry. However, I can now have a little bop to it now, so we are very happy with this progress. As I said before, my top 18 or so are very interchangeable and given that a song with this much meaning has only just scraped the top 15 speaks volumes about how high I rate their discography!

A bit of a shock seeing Its The Wy You Make Me Feel put so soon, but I’m loving how different your countdown is.

 

Neon Blue has really clicked with me recently, I love it.

Good that neon blue at the least made your top 15 and nice to see it ranked above one for sorrow and it's the way you make me feel for a change.

I don’t mind 5,6,7,8 as it was an important song for their career. It’s nice enough but not their best for me.

 

OFS, the song that made me fan :heart: A true Steps classic!

 

ITWYMMF is another classic Steps song. If only for the video with Lisa and her blue braces. #iconic

 

NB is a great and uplifting song! I’m happy that their new material is strong and up there with their old stuff! This one also shows how they worked on their issues as they seem genuine happy in the video!

14. Glitter and Gold

 

 

I was quite disappointed this song wasn’t on the Party… tour but I was lucky enough to get to Chester to see the Summer of Steps tour where they performed it there. Videos going round at the time suggested sloppy choreo but I didn’t recall it in real life. Anyway, it was great to see it live!
