Back in 2021 I did a thread like this for the song Push The Feeling On by Nightcrawlers which had been heavily sampled. Today I’m taking a moment to look back on some of the most well known examples of songs to use the sample from the 1993 Robin S single Show Me Love after two British artists have released songs in the past month sampling it. Charli XCX releases the video for her new single Used To Know Me later today. Craig David released his new single today too.

Angello and Laidback Luke out of this lot.

 

although my fave take on the sample is one that’s not here which is Ferreck Dawn & Redondo - Love Too Deep (which takes the vocal of another song but the organ bass line of SML)

I like the Steve Angello version slightly more than the original but otherwise there's nothing here that doesn't just make me want to listen to the original. And that Sam Feldt monstrosity is one of the worst covers to ever inexplicably become popular, completely ruins the vibe of the song.

Original initially came out in 1990, released under the name "Robin Stone"

 

Then it was re-released in 1992 including the Stonebridge remix which is the version we all know. It's a similar story to Nigthcrawlers and MK

I clearly commented in the wrong thread thinking this was Better Off Alone and hadn't realised someone had bumped the Show Me Love thread. My bad :kink:
