Ahhh makes sense as to why she wanted this to get it's moment as the first (proper) release from 1989 (TV).

Oh wow. There’s always a purpose / back story with Taylor

This Love was never a big standout from 1989 for me but hearing it on its own like this is definitely making me appreciate it more  The artwork definitely suits the song but I'd be here for it as the main album artwork too tbh!
I know itunes means nothing these days. But… How the hell is ‘This Love - karaoke version’ higher on itunes (number 13) than Taylor’s version!?!

That is weird...maybe everyone wants to sing it now. :P

On BuzzJack's front page, it says that it's #3 on itunes...is it? :cheer:

I just checked the iTunes store and it is indeed number three

8 on UK and US Spotify, and its only that low in the US because of the Bad Bunny album bomb. Really impressive for a less well known track especially in the UK

Thats incredible especially if you factor in the lack of Spotify support, #27 on NMF UK what a joke

Number 8 is great. She doesn’t seem to get a lot of support on Spotify these days?

She gets a lot of Spotify plays from me.

Haha. She definitely does from her fans. I meant from Spotify itself :)

She's not re-recording these for the sake of it though? She's re-recording her albums so fans can listen to them and she actually earns the money from them (hence why they're not TOO different). Streaming/buying the older albums gives money to S*ooter B*aun, who now owns the masters to the original albums.

Idk why or whether she's requested that her original albums get taken off streaming to prevent that, but then there'd be no other option for the fans to listen to the songs they know and love. Another advantage of owning the CDs before the S*ooter bought it and took it all away from her.

she's not re-recording them for money lol its about ownership.

She owns the rights to her old music in the sense of it can't be used without her say so (except Tik Tok - hence why her songs keep "taking off" on there as its the only avenue the owner can give exposure to her music).

So if Nescafe approach the owner of 'Shake it Off' and ask for it to be used in an ad, Taylor gets the final say so will decline. She would then re-record the track and let them use that.

That's why she released 'Wildest Dreams' when she did. It's not really about money, it's about ownership.
