May 6, 20223 yr Author It's not often that the longest runner on the playlist isn't on the A-list :o I actually can't find any other song that spent 10 weeks on the playlist without being A-listed. Not sure why they didn't just move it up a few weeks ago. Three Sams on the playlist as I correctly predicted last week - and it's quite satisfying that there's one on each of the three playlists! Surprised at a new Lorde single being pushed but that's my favourite of the remaining album tracks so a great choice.
May 6, 20223 yr Surprised Lorde has a third song added months after the last. I actually had just added my own new song from the album to my on the go playlist as I thought they were done with the promo. Also nice to see early adds for Sam Smith, AJ Tracey and Easylife. Also glad that Maggie Rogers track is added, a nice track!
May 6, 20223 yr I think Lorde released the video for that track like a month ago or something she's not doing much promo but she's dropping videos every couple months
May 6, 20223 yr A pleasant surprise to see another Lorde song added, this song is pretty mid tier on the album for me (I would have loved for 'Fallen Fruit' to get some daytime radio play instead, not the most commercial sounding song on there but it's not like anything is going to salvage this era commercially x) but still good, and the music video she put out for it is definitely my favourite of the videos this era. Going to see her live at the end of this month so I wonder if that explains the timing for this UK radio push. That's technically Robyn being back on the R1 playlist as well! (Unless they cut out the outro, which I imagine they probably will lol)
May 6, 20223 yr Tune of the Weekend is AJ Tracey. I found it a little surprising a few weeks ago that ‘Don’t Forget My Love’ wasn’t A-Listed considering the quick support it got (I’m sure it was Tune of the Weekend a week after release which is unusual, for a dance track especially). Now it’s looking like it’ll enter the Top 40 I guess it would seem odd to drop it. If they actually held off playlisting the song for a couple weeks I reckon it would’ve made the A-List.
