It's hard for me to get my head round the total throw away era we're in re album sales where it can all be over in one week.

 

When you think of all the time and trouble that goes into recording them and arranging the beautiful music.

 

It's almost completely meaningless.

 

40k sold and that's it,

 

He used to sell that much in an hour and now that is considered a good opening weeks sales.

 

I'm old and I just don't understand it :lol:

I agree, it's sad to see but it happens so many albums now, outside fans very few are buying albums and fans generally all buy on release week, I really don't know what record companies can do to change this, reducing prices might help but if they do that will they make a profit. I can just see artists not making albums in the future and only releasing singles.

I would say its not fair and doesn’t actually reflect ‘album sales’ at all.

But album sales are included right :unsure: . I guess the whole structure of what they include/exclude in the charts has changed .

Apparently its 21 in todays midweeks which is a lot better although there is probably very little sales between 21 and 38.

Goid recovery after been 38 earlier in the week, in Ireland it dropped from 1 to 34.

It's just iTunes today's chart but I like OZ reaction on his AFL performance =)
