'Silent Running' is definitely my least favourite of the singles from this era so far but still liked it - they're not really leaving much to the imagination having released 5 singles from a 10 track album but at least they're saving the most interesting collaborations for the album release I guess.

I'd say I actually liked all of the first 4 singles on about the same level so a little hard to rank them but I think at this particular moment I'm feeling 'Skinny Ape' > 'New Gold' > 'Cracker Island' > 'Baby Queen' > 'Silent Running'. None of them are quite on the same level as the highlights from their previous album. I agree that the second half of 'Skinny Ape' is a lot better than the first half which holds it back from being a more clear favourite from the era.

Clearly I am in a minority as I prefer Baby Queen and Silent Running.

Ah well.

'Oil' and 'Tormenta' are great collabs to lift this album. I think it's mostly a strong effort, the tracks they hadn't released before, are generally the best ones (though 'Cracker Island' remains the clear best of course).

'Tarantula' has some great electronic bits for them on their own for example.
