It doesn't really matter. It was a hit that managed to reach the wide public. Everyone is supposed to bop to it. You don't need to be a fan in order to do that.

Dont play daft

Course it matters, theres ober 67 million people in the UK and the song has sold just over 300k...

Then there were 1400 people that won tickets....do the maths hun

Those who attended are not random people. They registered to get tickets because they wanted to attend a Kylie gig, which means they are fans. They weren't there to see another act, like in a festival setting.

Would you register to get tickets for an act you don't care about? I don't think so.

They registered for FREE tickets, I register for free tickets for sports and I dont even like sports. So yes, I think people would register for a compeition. Especially to see someone famous where you might know an odd song but not enough to be dancing up and dont. Yes, I do think people would register for FREE tickets to a gig. You are looking at it very black and white hun.

Padam came across fine to me, it's not necessarily the kind of song you lose your mind to is it? It's hypnotic and makes you have a gentle bounce. Can't trolls have a day off.
Can't trolls have a day off.

Excuse me?! Do you label someone a troll just because he doesn't share your opinion on a song?

No, I think they have seen your pattern of posts in this forum and noticed that you only ever decide about trying to bring negativity here. I feel very very sorry for you hun. Honestly, from.the bottom of my very black heart.

Do better hun 🖤 I know you have it in you. Jealousy is a very very sad thing.

No, I think they labelled you a troll because you are in fairness. I know I have in the past.

LOL

You two give a bad name for Kylie fans. You can't take constructive criticism.

What exactly is my pattern of posts?

Firstly I apologise if being called a "troll" upset you, but whenever I've seen your posts about Kylie it's always to point out something wrong.

If you think I give Kylie fans a bad name, you haven't even scratched the surface of what goes on in the fandom

Oh please give it a rest, we got your opinion, can we move on to a more interesting conversation here that does not include you and your negativity and criticism?

I wanted to share my rating of Tension tracks and other than the 2 singles which I adore Padam (10/10) and Tension (9.5/10), here are my grades:

1-Things we do for love - 10/10 (my fav of the album, its perfection, an instant classic)

2-Hold on to now - 10/10

(Just cant put less than 10 on this, its so amazing and its everything she does best in a song)

3-You still get me high - 9.5/10 (this is also the type of songs I wanted her to do since 2018 and she finally did so brillantly, its flawless and the bridge is everything with those high notes)

4- Story - 9.5/10 (Lyrics are strong and song is perfectly addictive)

5- Somebody to love - 9/10 (This is one of the strongest tracks for me and should have definitely been a standard track, its amazing and lyrics are solid)

6- One more time - 8.5/10 (A sexy very disco track with a sick beat)

7- Vegas high - 8/10

(Its nice and cool but the chorus is so repetitive for my liking and feels like a Vegas resort special song)

8- Green Light - 7.5/10 (song is so cool and she's grooving in it but not my style of song, I love the sax in it though and the chorus is so addictive)

9- Just imagine - 7/10 (I love her vocals and the build up but too bad the songs ends so early as if its unfinished, its missing a bridge so badly)

10-Hands - 6.5/10 (I feel like she is a feature on this one, its cool to have on the album and for the singalong, but again not my type of song)

11-10 out of 10 - 6/10 (should have been a bonus and replaced by somebody to love)

12-Love train - 5/10 (the only track I would skip)

Like it has been said in different threads, a hit single these days doesnt translate into album sales and i think some of us myself included got carried away with the success of padam padam thinking it would translate into higher album sales. In a way it shows Kylie is no different to current artists in that way.

But i think whats interesting is how close the sales are compared to Disco which didnt have the big hit single and while Tension is well up on Golden its not a huge jump, my point is not said to be negative in any way but i feel based on the sales we are seeing for Tension SO FAR the album possibly would have had the same sales regardless if it contained a big hit or not.

Padam Padam was excellent for getting Kylies name out to a wider audience and also great for reminding people that Kylie is still around, i did hear a comment at work one day when padam padam came on and my colleague said i havnt heard a Kylie single in years which i understood as the songs were very fanbase supported prior to padam padam.

I know the Tension campaign has a lot of legs left in yet but its likely it will either match or come close to Discos sales in the months/years ahead.

I think Disco’s sales were hugely inflated cause her fans were SCARED of Little Mix beating her last time. I think Tension will have a much stronger chart run.

So true - artists like Raye, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus etc., have had huge #1 singles that hadn’t translated into big album sales.

Kylie is the queen of consistency with her album sales though - Golden 48k, Disco 55k and Tension falling somewhere inbetween those two!

Anyway - she's was great at the Graham Norton show tonight. Watch out for her little dance to Mawaan Rizwan's I Got A New Walk - very funny!

But these are "higher album sales", she'll be 5th biggest opening week -

95,882 Lewis Capaldi - Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent

76,263 Ed Sheeran - -

67,112 Taylor Swift - Speak Now (Taylor's Version)

60,272 Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS

44,051 Blur - The Ballad of Darren

41,925 Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd

Right! Week 1 over and breathe!!!!

Now week 2. Start streaming the album and singles even more, she needs your streams even more!!
