I'm a bit shocked by how fast its falling as we havnt seen anything as fast as this since Impossible Princess.

Interested to see if BMG will react in any way to try and slow down the decline.

its the streaming of other albums in this climate. All those greatest hits albums and Taylor, Ed albums etc it can't compete with. No none Kylie fans are going to pay £15.99 for a CD and £11.99 for a download. Most of the vinyls are probably ready to sell out, so a new variant will probably come up.

 

Like i said earlier its a soft release for Kylie & BMG. It did its job and now they will wait for any promo, features, variants to release at certain times from now up to Xmas. I wouldn't worry at all.

 

For instance i have £10 amazon voucher and waiting to get Tension Deluxe CD for this price. Even i have no need to buy it at full price.

It is strange how some are trying hard to push the view that the album isn't a success, like what do you get spreading false negativity?

 

 

However you choose to look at the success of tension to date, you can’t get away from the fact it has dropped much faster than anything she has released recently and sold significantly less in its current chart life. That’s not spreading false negativity, it’s based on sales and chart runs. Hopefully, things will turn around but I’m not wildly optimistic. There is no promotion lined up, no price reduction and while the audience show will give a boost, it will only be short term.

Yes agreed, hopefully BMG will get the next single rolling soon to try and help the album recover. At the current rate, it will most likely drop out of the T75 next week without any intervention and that would be a shame for such a good album overall.

That’s my only frustration with it - it is such a good album that it deserves to be high up.

 

It seems to be the norm though that I guess we need to get used to (Ed is following the same drop 1-8-27, and Drake 1-8, seems to only be Taylor and Olivia that have bucked the trend this year).

Lets be honest though. if it drops out of top 100 this week, it wouldn't take much to get it back in the top 40 with a few price discounts etc.

 

Don't underestimate An Audience with, released with Xmas a few weeks away. It won't sell 10s of thousands but has the ability to sell a few thousand and also of other albums too with Xmas presents too. Lets wait and see what is in store.

I agree - I don’t think ‘An Audience With’ will pull in huge sales numbers BUT it will be feel good TV and with sales low it will give it a decent boost even if it’s only for a week.

She could do with a collab of a new song on An Audience With.

 

For Example she could say this is Hands featuring RAYE from my new Album Tension :0

Well Rick needs ALL the help he can get. Kylie doesn't! BMG are well aware there's always a fan base who will buy anything for a 1st week total of 50K'ish/plus.

With Tension remaining at full price suggests BMG are holding out to make money.

That said, the chart run outside debut week for Tension is awful.
