"ONE OF THE MOST HEARTFELT CONCERTS" – ROBBIE WILLIAMS AFTER THE CONCERT ON THE PITS

Several praised the singer Robbie Williams' concert on the Pits yesterday, for the Pits, even for the atmosphere he is able to create and the way in which he interacted with the audience. But, as the concierge was over, it was Williams' turn to send a message, in relation to this evening attended by around 20,000 people. In a Facebook post, Williams said that in Malta, he experienced one of the most cherished concerts.

He concluded by thanking the Maltese people, for welcoming him with so much enthusiasm even as this was the first time he had visited our country. In fact, during the concert, he not only cut off the wishes of several Maltese, by even dedicating songs to them, but also praising our country, so much so that he said that he would tell everyone about our country. During the concert, Williams even raised the jersey of our country's national football team.

British artist Robbie Williams has given a wonderful show to the many Maltese and tourists who have come to assist in this concert as part of his XXV tour. This is to celebrate 25 years of successes in his solo career. On the assembled stage he sang songs from his powerful repertoire with an animated show even with a group of dancers and a live band. Before Robbie Williams started the concert there was the participation of local talent, with Red Electric and Shaun Farrugia also animating the crowd present.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo remarked that these types of events further strengthen our country's offer to the tourism world.

Watch: Priscilla, Toilet Breaks And One Of Robbie Williams’ ‘Favourite Ever Shows’ – Fosos Was Something Else Last Night

Months of anticipation later, Robbie Williams finally graced Malta for a mega concert last night… and boy did he deliver on the reputation of being one of the world’s top entertainers! With some 20,000 people descending onto the popular Fosos in Floriana, the show kicked off with local heroes Red Electric, who performed a number of their most popular tracks to the thousands in attendance. Then, it was time for the main act himself, but as you’d expect, songs weren’t the only things that Robbie delivered.

One of the standout moments of the night came when the 49-year-old went down to sing along with the crowd… and it was here that he ran into superfan Priscilla Dimech – who had been waiting for this moment for 27 long years!

What started out as a very tight embrace that took Williams by surprise ended up being a wholesome connection between the two that kept being brought up throughout the night, from the superstar reading out the Maltese woman’s tattoos and asking her about her cat and job, to him all-out dedicated She’s The One to her. It’s safe to say Priscilla’s night was made, and many Maltese people ended falling up in love with her too, as Facebook forums were flooded with her name (and fellow fan Daniel) overnight. But that wasn’t the only standout moment, with Williams bringing his signature cheeky attitude to a group of Maltese women who were filmed checking themselves after a short toilet break. “How bloody rude!” he said as the camera panned to the group, who were being filmed fixing their hair and make-up after a brief toilet break. “I’m sharing my heart here, and all that they are doing is checking to see if their f*cking hair’s good!”

When they realised they were being broadcasted for the thousands of people in attendance, the women quickly tried to avoid the camera’s gaze, but while Williams’ tone sounded pissed off, the 49-year-old entertainer is known to get cheeky during his performances, and he was clearly joking. Still, it must have not been the best moment for the fans.

But even beyond the crowd interactions, Robbie Williams delivered an incredible show, from lifting up a customised version of the Maltese national football team gear to getting everyone to sing along to all his mega hits and anthems. “That was one of my favourite ever shows,” the superstar wrote this morning. “Thank you for giving me such a lovely welcome for my first visit – I hope you’ll have me back again.”

Robbie Williams, Sandringham review: The ultimate showman

*****

Robbie Williams gave a performance fit for a king and treated fans to a non-stop stream of hits on his first night at the royal Sandringham Estate.

As a fan of Williams, I had already seen one of his first shows on the XXV tour, marking 25 years as a solo artist. After watching him take his adoring audience on a trip down memory lane with huge visuals at London's O2 Arena, I was interested to see how the tour would translate outdoors.

Luckily it didn't disappoint and the ultimate showman proved he is still top of his game.

The concert began with Hey Wow Yeah Yeah followed by the party starter Let Me Entertain You. He then performed hit after hit, with plenty to choose from with 31 UK top 10 singles under his belt, and he dedicated some songs to superfans in the front row.

It was also great to see him celebrate his Take That routes, with his former bandmate Mark Owen the special guest ahead of his headline set.

Mark returned to the stage later in the evening to sing a duet with Robbie on the Take That song Greatest Day, which was a really touching moment.

Other highlights included Love My Life, complete with streamers fired out at the audience, and the scaled-back She's The One.

Robbie has amassed countless hits over his stellar (and sometimes shocking) career and his most popular single is undoubtedly the anthem Angels.

This was his final song during the encore and with the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs, Robbie well and truly took them to the heavens.

In terms of traffic, it took 90 minutes from arriving in the vicinity of Sandringham to get parked and it took an hour to get out of the car park when leaving.

The staff were friendly and helpful but the signage was a little confusing.
