Here & Now is in at #23 in the first of two songs to finish on a score of 39 points. Released as a Double A single with You’ll Be Sorry from Steps third album Buzz this would go on to reach #4 in the UK, #23 in Ireland and #71 in Australia. It received votes from 3 of the 7 participants (16-17-6), which is why it falls behind the song at #22.

Even though here and now missed out in my top 25 it did come close and I do enjoy it.

Great idea, I was thinking of including it so not sure why I didn’t.

 

I’ll update the first three soon and do them with the songs from here on out.

#22 - Heartbeat - 39

 

 

22 - Heartbeat / Simon Hill Remix – 39 – Heartbeat was the fourth single released from Steps debut album Step One. Released alongside a cover of the Bee Gees 1979 hit Tragedy (more on that later). Heartbeat was a change of pace for Steps, it was their first full on ballad released as a single. The music video for Heartbeat saw Faye, Lee, Claire and Lisa trying to save H after he’d be kidnapped. What places this ahead of Here & Now is that it got votes from 4 of the 7 participants (1-25-9-4), including a top place from Lukuzz.

damn, least I managed to get it in the chart !

Heartbeat definitely deserves a place in the final countdown it’s a steps classic even if just due to it being a tragedy double a side

Heartbeat def shouldn't be in there in my world but others like it and put it there so il have to accept it.

Let’s hope for more surprises.
