Matteo joins Marin Cilic as being unable to play due to the illness.

What a blow for the competitiveness of the tournament.

I'm thinking one of either Shapolavov or Auger-Aliassime will reach their first Open final versus Djokovic.

Shopavalov is at his worst, losing on the 1st round in all the last 4/5 tournaments he's been at

in Spain they say its the Nadal course, he beat him in Rome but has lost all his games since that :D

It was annoying the BBC didn't show the end of the Alcaraz match yesterday after Emma's match had finished. It was 4-4 in the final set. Instead they were chatting about Andy Murray and showing his warm up. I don't have the red button in Ireland.

Beatrix Haddad Maia losing yesterday was a surprise after she had won Nottingham, Birmingham and got to the semi-finals of Eastbourne.

After 4 break break points, Tan captures another game; now only trailing Williams by one game 4-3

kinda painful to watch Serena, she really cannot run

surprised Felix is already out in r1

Serena Williams loses epic to Harmony Tan as time catches up with 40-year-old. Congratulations to Harmony Tan with 99.9% of the crowd on her back and the BBC bias towards Serena.

Kyrgios played the winning shot and then aimed a mouthful of spit in the direction of the section of the Court No 3 crowd where he claimed abusive comments came from.

When asked if the action was deliberate, the 2014 quarter-finalist said: “Of one of the people disrespecting me, yes.

That's an vile thing to do when he'll ever learn?

Too bad for Serena, that was a nail biter but after last year I'm just pleased she managed to do a full match.

Caught some of the Kyrgios/Jubb match earlier - Jubb did very well pushing it to a final set, would have been nice to see him through!

I was very impressed with how close Jubb took it, I watched some of this one as I love watching Kyrgios play, you know there's always going to be some drama :D

Great to see six Brits through to round 2 in the men's draw (and British men's no.2 Dan Evans not one of them lol), fingers crossed Norrie and Peniston can both get through today and then meet each other in round 3

Emma Raducanu is out, same with world number #2 Kontaveit, but no surprises there

more surprised at Ruud losing

A serving masterclass from John Isner. First time ever in Murray's career that he hasn't reached the third round at Wimbledon.
