It is funny to me that the articles now are about a Headline slot :P Personally, I see that as much more fitting, as previously described here! For a girlband of their stature to headline Glasto would just be the most iconic thing ever!!

 

Let Little Mix do the legends slot (no shade, I love them even though their shows have been so low budget) when they come back! The Spice Girls are and will always be worthy of a headline top bill ;)

I've repurposed this thread, which was originally called "Your Predictions: Spice Girls at Glastonbury Festival 2023". Now it's more of a pre-emptive general discussion about them maybe doing festival shows in the UK.

 

It's been a longstanding rumour and ongoing discussion point that the Spice Girls will eventually perform at Glastonbury.

 

Interestingly somebody on Spice Circle, who works within Universal, shared this rather tantalising post:

 

"The two festival performances the 5 girls will be performing at in 2023"

 

Obviously we have to take something that isn't official with a pinch of salt, but he is known to be reliable, so... :thinking:

I’d be amazed if they were offered both Glastonbury and coachella in the same year… I think a Hyde park show is far more likely.

Glasto I can watch from home and Hyde Park has terrible sound and is far too big. So na, skip me with either of those eheh

Melanie C has been dropping regular hints that she would love for the 'Viva Forever' hitmakers to play Glastonbury, and she quipped she would go as far to "pick up litter" on site just to return to the world-famous festival after making her debut DJing and performing a duet of 'Spice Up Your Life' with Blossoms at Worthy Farm in June.

We haven't been asked will be the line until they announce it. It was the same with the Olympics but they will happily talk about it and talk it up as it builds hype for it.

They will have to say that until something is announced anyway they won't be allowed to reveal anything. Of course they will keep talking about it though that's pretty much how they got the Olympic gig which was a game changer for them!

Could be Mardi Gras / Pride for all we know, but maybe they are going to tour there too around that time? Timing wise it makes kind of sense but they need to announce a tour asap though, it is getting late!!

Festivals are so easy money, non of the expense of a tour and a big cheque and a shorter setlist.

 

Wouldn't shock me if that would then be them ticking Australia off the list with this. Some festivals, few big stadium dates, light schedule but big gigs each time.

 

If Simon Ellis is doing Emma's shows no doubt he would have been secured for this already too.

According to the source, it is taking place on the 5th of March. An announcement is expected to be made in November.
