Just given this a listen and... it's a bit bland? The best thing about it is that she sounds vocally great on it, I'm just not feeling the songs so much. Aside from the singles, 'Cute Aggression' is good but 'Where You Are' is the absolute highlight wub

NUMBER 2 IN MONDAYS UPDATE 😮😮

So there was some vocal moments on this which is what I was wanting! I did have a pleasant surprise with the album and found that it wasn’t too reliant on the singles as for me they weren’t really the highlights.

I do still feel she’s kind of still in that place of figuring out who she is and exploring her sound as a solo act though but that’s not necessarily a critique here it is her debut album after all.

Hoping for a nice chart position here. Looking at the new releases this week on sales alone id say Olivia Dean aside she should chart higher than the others on week one right?

Don't under estimate Doja Cat and her variants! But other than that, I'd say 3rd highest new entry (at least) is on lock? Maybe I'm over estimating Doja but I can see her charting higher, for sure. At this point, anywhere in the top 10 would be a big result for Perrie!

The is now a personalised postcard and cd on Perrie's site. I already ordered the personalised one from that other site plus a bundle with a signed photo so I can't afford the postcard.

The postcard idea is a bit rubbish to be honest. I think I would have preferred a limited edition numbered signed poster or something.

Ahh my Personally signed Perrie Vinyl came she wrote 'Stay grounded you've got this' with a big heart.

It's very Perrie and I love it! The pink pressing is actually really nice too it has some slight marbling.

Deluxe up for pre-order on her site.

Pretty cheeky to do the physical pre-orders during release week lol

Looks like we're officially getting 'Woman In Love' (the other track that was polled against 'Rollercoaster' - Iirc that one sounded better so I was a bit "Meh" when 'Rollercoaster' won lol...)

EDIT: It looks like the bonuses will be "Digital exclusives"... so you'll probably get the original album on CD and then a download link for the digital album... (this isn't a new strategy before anyone comes for her btw lol)

Happy to get 2-2 as I believe that was the one she wrote with Raye. But because it’s a bundle and the US shipping is outrageous because of tariffs, I’ll have to wait until it comes to iTunes/streaming platforms.

Was thinking the same as you but then read to the end where its digital exclusive (the deluxe part) like at least get through release week 🤣🤣

Managed to listen to the album from start to season and it’s actually a really strong debut in my opinion, Same Place Different View made me quite emotional because of the background of what it’s about but that and Miss You really does show no one can do a ballad quite like Perrie, her voice is incredible.

Hoping she can get top 5 but top 10 would still be a win for her.

The more time I spend with it the better it gets , I do agree that they curse themselves releasing so close to Jade them both being in the same group comparisons were always gonna be made

Finally getting around to listening to this for the first time.

First listen thoughts...

'Forget About Us' > I really get Emma Bunton - What Took You So Long vibes from this, does anyone else? I can't explain it fully but it's what I get from it lol. It's cute and was a hit for her which is what's important. Not one I go back to, but it's Summery and fun. <

'If He Wanted To He Would' > Still such a BANGER. I wish it came out earlier in the Summer as I really think it would have been a song of the Summer contender. Just a lot of fun and my 2nd favourite behind YGYW <

'Sand Dancer' > This is cute, it's like a better version of 'Forget About Us'. I like that she's got a song about her hometown on here. <

'Rocket Scientist' > Oh this is good! I really like this. The flow and delivery of "Rocket Scientist" in the chorus took me some getting used to with the clips, but it's really nice! I can see why they've opted for this as the next single tbh. <

'Baby Steps' > Oh I love this! Why do I already feel this is under appreciated? It's so good. I love the punchy chorus and the verses are gorgeous. <

'Bonnie and Clyde' > This is BY FAR her most "interesting" song to date at least sonically! I wish it did a tiny bit more with it and went a bit harder, but very good! <

'Pushing Up Daisies' > What in the late 00's/early 10's is THIS BANGER???? It really reminds me of Lady Sovereign - So Human a little bit! A BANGER! <

'Cute Aggression' > This is still cute. It was a nice instant grat. It's exactly what you'd expect and that's perfectly fine! Bop. <

'Miss You' > I hadn't heard this properly in full until now but first of all YES VOCALS!!!! It's a lovely song but it's still quite jarring to me. I think it's coz it's quite "wordy" to me and the production doesn't "flow" that well but GIVE ME THEM VOCALS YES YES YESSS! I think this might benefit from being an acoustic? <

'Punchline' > A lot of fun! I don't like this as much as I thought I would, initially. However, I do think it'll be a grower for me. <

'Put You First' > Nice enough. I'm just not into this Myles Smith vibe though. Not for me but I do LOVE the Axel snippets! HOW CUTE!!!! <

'Absof***inglutely' > A bop. But like 'Punchline' I'm probably not loving this as much as I perhaps *should be* atm. Maybe I'm just getting worn down with this kind of sound through the album? I mean I don't dislike it, but I think I'll get more from it when I listen to it away from the album? <

'Where You Are' > This is... ok. Probably the most "fillery" on the album so far. It's decent enough though. <

'Same Place Different View' > This is getting me pretty emotional. It's gorgeous but heartbreaking and it's sad it's got to that point for them all </3 <

'You Go Your Way' > BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP!!!!!!!! My favourite! <3 I actually think she would have gotten away with replacing the original version with the rock version and it fitting in still! <

'Goodbye My Friend' > STOP IIIITTTT! This is so cute and emotional. I'm gonna look forward to the Tik Tok edits of the 3 of them to this song <3 What a lovely ending. <

Overall: A really solid debut. It does get to a point where it starts to blur a few tracks together so I ended up getting a bit worn out by the just over half way point, but they're tracks that I know for sure that when I listen to them away from the album/listen to them more, I will like them a whole lot more ('Punchline' and 'Absof***inglutely' are the to main culprits for me)

Highlights: 'You Go Your Way', 'If He Wanted To He Would', 'Pushing Up Daisies', 'Baby Steps' & 'Bonnie and Clyde'

I like this album a lot. I *get* some of the criticism towards it (largely that it does get a bit "samey") but on the whole it's criticism I can work with and will appreciate the album more when I get used to the songs more. I do wish she had better producers for her ballads though! We love her vocals ofc and she smashes it out the park on here ofc, but idk there's something pretty basic and boring about the production of them, to me?

Apparently the CD and vinyl versions of 'Punchline' are the clean edits.

Wish the deluxe was released on physical, also realised the hmv exclusive cd is the only version that's in a plastic jewel case.

The deluxe isn’t on the homepage or anywhere on the store unless you click that link?

I’m assuming it’s supposed to be a surprise midweek to boost sales with the original CD album shipping now and then the digital deluxe to follow?

Personally signed vinyls are back! I recommend the pink signed it’s honestly stunning!!!!

BUY HERE

Pink are gone already but the standard vinyl is still available.

I’m glad they’re really fighting for this. Outside of Olivia dominating on streaming, the other new releases this week are pretty much in line on streaming seemingly, with Doja a little bit ahead but no crazy numbers. Really hoping the signings and events can help Perrie pull through to Top 5.

Pinks been restocked :)

Ahh my bad it’s sold out again. No idea why there’s no quantity for them it just says available.

Baby Steps, Cute Agression, Punchline and Pushing up Daisies are on repeat for me now. So good
