I completely understand that and it's incredible that they have been going for so long however it's a shame as their new single is so strong. The streaming services pick and choose which legacy act to support! I understand how it all works, it's just frustrating. Maybe in my 30s I am too old for it all haha

^Don't agree with that, if the music is still good why not support

Also Spotify has never supported Killers, or any old indie band for that matter, it's not that the support has suddenly stopped...

I think it may be that there is quite a lack of big acts releasing music now and more noticeable that these indie acts etc. do not have the support they should. The power they have on the charts now is also so high! Would be quite amusing if Mr Brightside charts above 'Boy' this week, hopefully that is not the case.

Some of the music they do support more is odd though. Ahead of The Killers this week on NMF is High School Musical, John Legend and some acts who are either new or not particularly known. It's almost like Spotify goes out of their way to prove a point :)

Mr Brightside will almost certainly chart above Boy.

Pretty sure it charted above every single from Imploding the Mirage when that was released.

Spotify should be supporting new artists though, I'd rather they do that than Robbie Williams.

I ofcourse see your point and they should be supporting new artists however its like he's been completely ignored.

they can support both, new and old, if the material is good

the worst is when artists get heavily supported on name alone even if the material is shit aka Calvin Harris this week with 3 songs on HH

Spotify could also do with being more international instead of so narrow-mildly UK-US only

Even Today's Hot Hits has Rosalia now as cover + track #3 with Despechá!

I agree with it being more international, I think the likes of Rosalia, Karol G and Bad Bunny could have hits if they were given a push.

Wonder if Eliza Rose could be a dark horse to be the next #1 (or at least getting there some time in the next few weeks). Her climb at the moment feels very reminiscent of when LF SYSTEM were starting to blow up (albeit a little harder to tell due to the streams being split between two versions).

I'm hoping if that is going to be a big hit that it'll grow on me a bit, obviously it's faaar from the worst of chart dance music but there's something about it that's not fully clicked with me like it has for some others on here.

It also reminds me of Afraid To Feel in the sense that's it's organically becoming popular without TikTok. Hopefully the Hot Hits support from today is going to boost it even more over the next few days.

Yay for the public embracing a talented female electronic/dance artist like this

Apple Music:

79 NEW KSI - Not Over Yet (feat. Tom Grennan)

87 NEW DJ Khaled - STAYING ALIVE (feat. Drake & Lil Baby)

109 NEW Joel Corry & Becky Hill - History

Calvin Harris - Funk Wav Bounces, Vol 2

14 Stay With Me

34 Potion

192 Obsessed

198 New To You

The 1975 are now at #130 and #147 on Apple now. It's hard to predict where they are combined, but at those positions on Spotify they'd be at #33.

110. Headie One, Abra Cadabra & Bandokay - Can’t Be Us
