To claim it’s overhyped is not a personal opinion, that’s an objective thing. To not like something is a personal opinion which is perfectly fine.

 

How can something that has huge critical acclaim and has been praised by countless industry professionals be classified as “overhyped”? Even if I don’t like the album, I’m not going to call it “overhyped” because the hype it’s getting is richly deserved based on its acclaim.

 

Whether you like the album personally is another thing altogether since everyone has subjective taste.

You can respect the acclaim but also disagree with it, surely? Saying it's overhyped is a personal opinion, I certainly find it overhyped as much as I like the album myself. Obviously I'm not hearing something that other people are but doesn't mean I must agree with a huge 93 on Metacritic...!!

Maybe act 2 is just the videos for all the act 1 songs

or they plan a sorta visual album or doc or something with all the videos

 

when i say "overhyped" i'm taking about the videos i've seen where fans are calling it "album of the decade", "best music release ever" "nothing like it has ever been released" etc, and also, i do believe that something being overhyped is a personal opinion. I could say august by taylor swift is "overhyped" because of how it has been talked about and played enpugh to make the chart this week, whulst someone else could say it isn't "overhyped" because it is one of her lesser known songs (hope the anology made sense, but i stand by the fact that how you precieve something is an opinion even if critics or fans or other people percieve it differetly

Pleased for Beyoncé. Would have loved it to be #1 but #2 is still a brilliant result. Her highest charting single in 11 years *.*

Every album that I don’t personally like is overhyped. Seems a very immature and petty way of looking at things, but if that’s the standard then fine.

I really would like to know what people making this argument think the word 'overhyped' means in all seriousness. It is quite literally by definition a personal opinion. i.e. acknowledging that it's been highly rated by others but personally not considering it to be worthy of that level of hype.

 

It always seems to be Beyoncé that this argument is applied to btw...
