Biography

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (/biːˈjɒnseɪ/ bee-YON-say; née Knowles; born September 4, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Beyoncé performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Their hiatus saw the release of her debut album Dangerously in Love (2003), which featured the US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy".

Following the 2006 disbanding of Destiny's Child, she released her second solo album, B'Day, which contained singles "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liar". Beyoncé also starred in multiple films such as The Pink Panther (2006), Dreamgirls (2006), Obsessed (2009), and The Lion King (2019). Her marriage to Jay-Z and her portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records (2008) influenced her third album, I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), which earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010. It spawned the successful singles "If I Were a Boy", "Single Ladies", and "Halo".

After splitting from her manager and father Mathew Knowles in 2010, Beyoncé released her musically diverse fourth album 4 in 2011. She later achieved universal acclaim for her sonically experimental visual albums, Beyoncé (2013) and Lemonade (2016), the latter of which was the world's best-selling album of 2016 and the most acclaimed album of her career, exploring themes of infidelity and womanism. In 2018, she released Everything Is Love, a collaborative album with her husband, Jay-Z, as the Carters. As a featured artist, Beyoncé topped the Billboard Hot 100 with the remixes of "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran in 2017 and "Savage" by Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The same year, she released the musical film and visual album Black Is King to widespread acclaim.

Beyoncé is one of the world's best-selling recording artists, having sold over 120 million records worldwide as a solo artist by 2010. She is the first solo artist to have their first six studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Her success during the 2000s was recognized with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)'s Top Certified Artist of the Decade as well as Billboard's Top Female Artist of the Decade. Beyoncé's accolades include 28 Grammy Awards, 26 MTV Video Music Awards (including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2014), 24 NAACP Image Awards, 31 BET Awards, and 17 Soul Train Music Awards; all of which are more than any other singer. In 2014, Billboard named her the highest-earning black musician of all time, while in 2020, she was included on Time's list of 100 women who defined the last century. - Wikipedia

this is a real grower! love it now!

Sorry Queen Bey about Kelis.

'Bad Habit' is quite nice! Wouldn't mind seeing it get a bit higher.

Alien Superstar is the best pop song I’ve heard in a while. It’s genius.

We could really do without giving Right Said Fred any more attention (and royalties) but this is a far better use of the sample than Drake's thing at least

On first listen I was turned off by the Right Said Fred melody but I've warmed to this song now

Sorry Queen Bey about Kelis.

Pharrell is the one person in this situation who should be apologising! Very bad man indeed.

I'm so pleased 'Alien Superstar' made it in over 'Church Girl'

This is such a glorious song. Glad it managed to debut in the top 20!

Not Just Pharrell, All of the Neptunes.

This sounds great. I listened to it the other day but wasn't listening properly!

Haven’t listened to the album but Alien Superstar is really good on first listen. Definitely not bland, unlike what’s next…

That song Bad Habit is another great song of 2022 in my opinion

Biography

Sigala

The Norfolk DJ and producer behind a string of house-pop hits in the 2010s, Sigala makes music that’s irresistible due to its joy and exuberance. His flair for songs full of sunny melodies and big energy reflects his solid grounding in soul, funk and pop gained while growing up and playing keyboards in teenage bands in Norwich (where he was born Bruce Fielder in 1992). He discovered his love of engineering and producing while messing about in a makeshift studio he built with a friend. His first chance to show off his playful sensibility was with his 2015 debut, “Easy Love”, on which he memorably repurposed the squeaky voice of the young Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5’s “ABC” into a piece of shiny dance pop. A No. 1 single, it sent Sigala up the ranks of festival DJs and Las Vegas club headliners. On later hits like 2016’s “Ain’t Giving Up” with Craig David and 2017’s “Came Here for Love” with Ella Eyre—both of which featured on his 2018 debut album, Brighter Days—Sigala reached further heights of pleasure and positivity by combining an eminently modern and tropical feel with old-school elements of disco and ‘90s house. A collaboration with The X Factor winner James Arthur, Sigala’s 2020 single “Lasting Lover” saw him build something fun and unique with the help of another borrowed hook: MGMT’s “Time to Pretend”. - Apple Music

Talia Mar

Talia Mar is a singer/songwriter who began her music career by leveraging her hyper-engaged audience across YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch - her self-proclaimed ‘Martians’. Off the back of this success, Talia is working on new music. - Spotify

The only thing I don't like about Alien Superstar is that will likely give more money to Far Right Said Fred.
