Hertha seem to have the odd few seasons when they do very well but spend a lot of time trying to stay in Bundesliga I or get out of Bundesliga II.

PSV Eindhoven head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has left before the final game of the season because of "a lack of support within the club", a club statement said.

 

Van Nistelrooy won the Dutch Cup and Dutch Super Cup after taking over the role in March 2022.

 

PSV said talks about his future were set for Sunday but the 46-year-old subsequently resigned.

 

The club, who are second in Eredivisie, said they "regretted" his decision.

Spain left-back Jordi Alba will leave Barcelona this summer after the Spanish champions agree to mutually terminate his contract a season early.

 

Alba, 34, joined the club in 2012 from Valencia and has won six La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey trophies and the Champions League in 2015.

 

He has made 458 appearances for the Catalan club, including 29 this season as Barcelona won La Liga.

 

Alba will join club captain Sergio Busquets in leaving this summer.

It's all going horribly wrong for Dortmund at the moment. They are 2-0 down at home to Mainz (having missed a penalty when one down) and Bayern are winning. That would allow Bayern to snatch an eleventh successive title.

Paris St-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico is in a "serious" condition and in intensive care after a horse riding accident, his club says.

 

Rico, 29, was riding in the El Rocio region of Huelva in Spain when he was in a collision with a runaway horse and fell, local media reported.

 

He was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Seville.

 

Rico was on the bench as PSG won a record 11th league title with a 1-1draw at Strasbourg on Saturday.

 

He had returned to his native Spain after the squad were given time off following their win.

The settlement means Juventus have accepted that 10-point penalty and will not receive a further points deduction.

Borussia Monchengladbach have appointed former Bayer Leverkusen manager Gerardo Seoane as their new head coach, the Bundesliga club said.

 

Gladbach parted ways with manager Daniel Farke after one season, having finished the campaign 10th and seven points adrift of the European qualification places.
