August 26, 20224 yr On the OCC vinyl singles chart there is a new entry. 7 Twist And Shout - The Beatles - Apple Corps Anybody got any idea what this is? Why would Apple re-issue this single? What's on the B-side? Can't find it on Amazon or HMV. A real mystery. Or did some independent shop find a batch of EPs from 1963?
August 26, 20224 yr 25 overtaking 30 for Adele, I wonder if 21 will overtake it soon too I think. I was about to make the exact same comment. Crazy to see 25 outdoing 30 less than a year after 30's release, and 21 creeping up on it also.
August 27, 20224 yr I was about to make the exact same comment. Crazy to see 25 outdoing 30 less than a year after 30's release, and 21 creeping up on it also. I don't think many would've expected it. I don't think there's much coming up that I know of that could help it climb a little. I'm not sure the Vegas shows will help.
August 27, 20224 yr Further to earlier 505 discussions it needed to climb all the way to #52 on audio streaming just to scrape into the official Top 100, so without doubt it has a higher than average proportion of free streams.
August 27, 20224 yr Interestingly, with STAY out of the top 100 for the first time, this is the first chart without Justin Bieber since W/E 24/09/2020, just before Holy debuted. He was absent from that chart and the one before, but the last one before that he was missing from was 10/10/2019, only because I Don't Care got starred out again!
August 28, 20224 yr 94 16 03 Calvin Harris ~ Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 almost out of the top 100 in week 3!
August 29, 20224 yr After 78 weeks of the Korean version of 'How Far I'll Go' incorrectly charting on the Video Streaming Charts, the OCC have finally released their mistake and the English version has re-entered this week. What's the chances that it just goes back to the Korean version again next week? They also have the Glee Cast version of 'All Of Me' that frequently charts instead of the John Legend version which I'm certain is also a mistake.
August 30, 20224 yr Love to see the re-entries for 'Viva La Vida' and 'A Sky Full Of Stars' <3 although a shame that their album actually ended up dropping a bit, getting its first top 40 week that's not in the top 25  Aw at Hot Chip's album not quite keeping up their run of albums peaking between #11 and #14 but not far off. Also lol at 'Curtain Call - The Hits' already being ahead of 'Curtain Call 2' - I actually predicted a while ago that would happen after 2 or 3 weeks so it's not really a surprise but still kind of funny to see that actually coming to fruition. And pleasantly surprising to see the Danger Mouse/Black Thought album with a second week in the chart as high as #60!
August 30, 20224 yr I guess when you think about it (re: Curtain Call 1 v 2) it's easy to see why. Outside of a handful of songs there weren't any real big singles though were there on '2'? I've only really heard the Beyoncé collaboration from the post 2014 singles. (I know of the Ed Sheeran one but have never heard it). Pretty much everything from '1' were hit singles people remember and go back and listen to. So in that way you'd expect it to chart higher for longer.
August 30, 20224 yr Indeed, pretty much all of his most popular streaming perennials are from the older albums (and with good reason). The quality is night and day between 1 and 2, 2 has a few good songs here and there but almost nothing that holds a candle to the majority of 1.
August 30, 20224 yr Indeed, pretty much all of his most popular streaming perennials are from the older albums (and with good reason). The quality is night and day between 1 and 2, 2 has a few good songs here and there but almost nothing that holds a candle to the majority of 1. Absolutely 100%. I’m not a massive Eminem fan but the majority of his best work was that late 90’s to 2006 period. I like the two Rihanna collaborations and the Nate Ruess one from CC2 and at a pinch could listen to Not Afraid or Won’t Back Down if they were to come on a playlist but that’s pretty much it.
