Bugzy Malone

Liberating grime from its London domicile in the mid-2010s, Bugzy Malone firmly implanted Manchester on the UK rap map with confessional storytelling in an unmistakable Mancunian gruff. Born Aaron Davis in Greater Manchester in 1990 to a single-parent mother, a young Bugzy Malone followed in his uncle’s criminal footsteps. After being expelled from school and enduring homelessess as a teen, Malone finally escaped Manchester street life after a prison sentence at the age of 16 served as a catalyst. Turning his life around as an amateur boxer before deciding upon a full-time career in rap, Malone released his introspective debut EP, Walk With Me, in 2015, a territorial reworking of grime whose title track installed his area’s calling code (0161) as a regional rap mantra. MIST

Birmingham-based grime MC Mist rose out of the mid-2010s grime resurgence, proving that you don't have to be from London to be taken seriously in U.K. rap circles. Mist, like most grime artists, started out by dropping numerous mixtapes and freestyles, which very quickly started racking up millions of views online. Although Mist's lyrics contained well-worn tropes concerning making money and life on the streets, he also delivered very honest bars about the loss of his parents and how his life changed as a result. During his early career, Mist collaborated with fellow Birmingham resident and producer Shadow, who would create languid yet melodic beats for Mist to navigate. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (/biːˈjɒnseɪ/ bee-YON-say; née Knowles; born September 4, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress.
