Any particular reason why the Panic song is so high?
Not sure! Its been steadily climbing over the past couple of weeks and now seems to be picking up pace.
I noticed it being A-listed on Radio 2 and #22 on the airplay chart, so I've just assumed that was helping it do well on iTunes.

For me it's one of those rare songs you hear on the radio and go "wow, what's this?" so I guess it's just connecting with people. I can see it being a slow burner over the coming months. Just needs someone to dance to it on Strictly or something.

Actually first heard it on local BBC radio bizarrely enough

It is definitely better than the other singles from this Panic! At The Disco album I'll give it that. And also a bit better than 'Leave Before You Love Me', the last song that sounded suspiciously similar to 'Last Christmas'. :kink:

'Don't Let The Light Go Out' sounds like 'Last Christmas'? What part exactly? I can't hear it at all myself.

Did you also not hear it in 'Leave Before You Love Me'?

It's not the vocal melody that's similar or anything, it's just the general vibe of the instrumental - there's probably a ton of other 80s songs that are similar as well but 'Last Christmas' is just the most ubiquitous one.

(It's not just me that's made this comparison btw!)

I can hear what you mean in 'Leave Before You Love Me' but I really can't in the Panic! song. The first four bars of the intro have a vaguely similar melody I guess but that's about it for me. Weird how different people hear different things I guess.
I definitely agree there are similarities between all four of Don't Let The Light Go Out, Leave Before You Love Me, Instant Crush and Last Christmas!
Wasn't 'Instant Crush' the song 'Leave Before You Love Me' sounded suspiciously similar to?

Yeah I hear those similarities a lot more than I do 'Last Christmas'.

That list of features on the Nicki Minaj song  I wonder how much each person actually contributes!

Skeng has the chorus x2 (it was actually his song originally before Nicki jumped on it) and the rest each have a verse - it is 6 minutes long!

Nicki really collaborating with every female rapper (except the big ones) between this and the 'Super Freaky Girl' remix *_* There are only 2 that I've even heard of on this one but cool for Lady Leshurr I guess.

Genuinely thought for a second Patrice Roberts was the guest rapper from Rebecca Black's 'Friday' (that was Patrice Wilson, close).

I was always convinced Lady Leshurr was going to be the next big UK rapper - she's super talented so it's a shame she never made it big. In fact I've just discovered she'd never even had a single chart hit - possibly coming for her first, assuming the OCC credit as above?

It's not a proper single afaia so I doubt it'll chart (and even if it does, this is just a remix of a song that was itself already a remix - I wouldn't be certain the OCC would even credit Nicki on it let alone all the others, see also 'Crocodile Teeth' by the similarly named Skillibeng which charted here following a Nicki Minaj remix but was still credited as the original solo version).

Indeed though a shame Lady Leshurr never really made a commercial breakthrough, but she's done well to stick around as a fairly relevant 'underground' artist for a good decade now.
