Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

Internationally it has helped remind people Kylie continues to release music regardless if they Invested in it themselves.

^^ Agree with this, would have loved PP to snatch a few more chart placings internationally BUT regardless it has reminded people who Kylie is via TikTok, memes and social media and brought some new and lapsed fans into the fold.

‘Tension’ will be her biggest international album for BMG by far - obviously it won’t set all the charts alight everywhere but will do more than Golden and Disco achieved.

"Radio didn't want to play it" - didn't it hit #1 in airplay?

Of course the way Radio 1 snubbed it at first was worth of raising eyebrows, but we don't need the discourse that it was snubbed by all stations or something.

Do you do this on purpose hun? The majority of radio do not like to play Kylie. You get radio 2 with support for a few weeks usually with a few other radio stations and that is it hun.

Capital 1 jumped on board when they saw it taking off on tiktok and radio 1 held out as long as they could not to playlist her. Were you not around for that? You just seem to be negative about Kylie all the time and you vant accept this is her biggest hit in a decade.

Usually singers fortunes decline and having a hit single as a mature woman hun does not happen often, 35 years into a career.

Just Carol Honey ❤️

Capital jumped on board when they saw it was gaining on streaming not TikTok. The biggest misconception about Padam is that it majorly took off on tik tok, it was used for a few videos but was never a heavily used sound the way most tik tok hits are. It was more of an organic word of mouth hit.

Agreed with this, it gets really tiring and he knew full well he was being deliberately obtuse (and borderline troll-like) with that statement.

Padam getting around 70k Spotify streams in uk a day at moment.

To get it off ACR would now need around 90k and also same increase on other platforms etc

Itunes update

8 Netherlands

11 Poland

Padam Padam now 30 and 96 on UK Itunes, already benefiting from Tension promo. Should get a boost from her media rounds tomorrow too

Did you see this? Producsrs said Padam Padam was the song of the summer, but radio didn't want to play it. It'll be the same with this one. It doesn't matter how good it is; ageist radio won't want to touch it, unless forced. They don't even play Madonna! Padam Padam could have been a no.1 with proper radio support I feel.

Released in May, the Kylie track reached the top of the UK charts, securing the singer her first No 1 in over a decade.

More fake news! :drama:

Did they dream this or what?

It was an iTunes #1, I'll have you know.

Also it's been #1 on the "Kylie Minogue top selling songs" chart for three and a half months. (perhaps to be dethroned today)

It's not the UK chart though.

Radio 1 and Capital were refusing to play it

Why does he lie? It was playlisted by both radio stations. In fact, Capital were early adopters and supported it massively.
