Stock up during the qualifying (compared to how they looked going in):

Scotland

Turkey

Albania

Austria

Hungary (though you could argue they're only justifying their Nations League performance)

Slovenia

Luxembourg (except when they're playing Portugal)

Stock down during the qualifying (compared to what they were heading in):

Norway

Netherlands

Ireland (I'm not sure anyone thought they'd qualify, but they've been even more dreadful than anyone expected)

Poland

Sweden

Bulgaria (they've been down in recent years, but not to this extent)

Northern Ireland (see Ireland)

I will do a FIFA World Rankings comparison from pre-qualifying to after the November matches.

Austria become the 8th team to book their place at the Euros but the football has been overshadowed by the terrorist attack in Brussels that led to the postponement of the Belgium-Sweden game at half time.

Many thanks for posting the results, LewisGT :)

About 400 Sweden fans spent the night in hotels under police protection after two Swedish people were shot dead in Brussels on Monday.

Sweden's Euro 2024 qualifier against Belgium was abandoned at half-time for security reasons.

An evacuation of the King Baudouin Stadium began at about 22:45 BST, with the last fans and staff leaving at 03:00 (04:00 local time).

The Sweden players have flown home and will return to their clubs

UEFA have announced that the Belgium - Sweden game that was called off at half-time midweek will not be replayed and the half-time score of 1-1 will now be considered the final score. I've updated the tables above to reflect this.

Kosovo 1-0 Israel

A great result for Romania & Switzerland as it gives them one foot in the Euros before they meet in the final game of the group. A huge dent to Israel’s chances of qualifying, although they are guaranteed a play-off spot if they miss out on automatic qualification and Kosovo’s small chance remains alive.

Israel host Switzerland (in Hungary) on Wednesday in their final re-arranged catch-up game before Matchday 9 officially starts in this grip on Saturday.

I project the final standings in that group to be:

Switzerland 20

Romania 18

Israel 16

Kosovo 13

It would have been this if Israel had gotten 3 points in Kosovo:

Switzerland 20

Israel 19

Romania 18

Kosovo 13

But this is projecting 2 points from the two homes games with Romania/Switzerland and those could very well be 0, especially since they won't actually be at home. They could also win one (more likely vs. Romania) and get 3 points out of those two, then Romania will have to win vs. Switzerland where I'm projecting a draw right now.

Israel 1-1 Switzerland

After the final re-arranged game, Group I now looks like this after Matchday 8

1. Switzerland 8/10 (+12) 16

2. Romania 8/10 (+9) 16

3. Israel 8/10 (-1) 12

4. Kosovo 8/10 (+1) 10

4. Belarus 8/10 (-7) 6

6. Andorra 8/10 (-14) 2

Switzerland would have qualified if they could have held on while they were winning. A point for Romania against Israel next time out would see them through with Switzerland just one win away too. Kosovo still have the slightest mathematical possibility but it would involve some absolute craziness (Romania losing to Israel and then beating Switzerland, Kosovo beating Switzerland and Israel losing to Andorra).
