If Israel wins their next two I think they'll make it because Romania would lose to Israel and could easily lose to Switzerland. Big 88th minute point versus the Swiss.

Another whacky scenario that could have traction if Iceland upsets Slovakia (in Bratislava) today and Luxembourg were to win at home versus Bosnia (they already won in Zenica 2-0). Then the final match day could see Luxembourg advancing directly if they win at Liechtenstein and Slovakia loses away to Bosnia.

 

Luxembourg will be kicking themselves for losing the home match versus Slovakia after getting a draw on the away match.

Hungary-Bulgaria was wild. Both teams had a red-card and Hungary secured the draw and qualification by getting the equalizer in the 7th minute of stoppage time with Bulgarian own goal!

Azerbaijan 3-0 Sweden is a bit of a surprise! But then maybe less so given that neither had too much to play for.

Yeah, I don't put too much stock into it. I'm sure Azerbaijan went all out since those kind of home matches are perceived as measuring sticks, where as Sweden can't qualify so they've probably moved on to preparing for future qualifying campaigns already.

And the Albanian contingent who live over here that I work with, will be no doubt celebrating (as well as the millions back at their homeland) -- with the draw in Moldova, Albania have clinched their spot. Who would thought that they'd win a group outright that had Poland and Czech Republic in it? Looks like that's what will occur.
