October 13, 20222 yr ^ God bless Chris Fox  Here's what it says on the website: We were honoured to be asked to produce a new "alternative version" of the Spice Up Your Life music video to celebrate 25 years of Spiceworld. The band's record label had dug out the original film spools from the video shoot back in 1997, featuring never-before-seen moments and alternative takes. And because the music video was originally shot on 35mm film, the footage could be scanned in true ultra-high definition 4K, giving fans a crystal-clear glimpse into Spiceworld. To tie all the footage together, we designed a Spice Blimp to fly over a fictional city, spreading the band's music and message of girl power. As the counterpart to the original steampunk-inspired video, the team asked for a bright and colourful video. So, we composited the Spice Girls in front of glowing LED screens to bring even more light and movement to the footage. The resulting video has been posted on the Spice Girls YouTube channel, giving fans coveted unseen footage from this iconic music video. Though it was clear just from watching it that it's true 4K, it's still cool to have it confirmed in writing that they found the original film spools for the music video! Knowing they've got the spools makes me long for the original video to be redone again as well, but I guess I'll have to keep dreaming. It also makes me wonder if the label still has the spools for their other videos.
October 13, 20222 yr By the way this video actually received quite a bit of press coverage: Rolling Stone Daily Mail Metro NME Good Morning America
October 14, 20222 yr Author It has as many views as the Step To Me one already lol... It seems to have revived this god-awful era so far at least :teresa: I really hope they listen to the feedback. Stuff like this, which clearly includes a lot of care and dedication thrown at it, is what the fans want and deserve. Really basic crap like the god-awful tracklist, lack of demos/unreleased tracks and the awful cover designs have really bummed fans throughout these campaigns, and we can't blame the record label anymore. It's on them!
October 14, 20222 yr This has been such a nice surprise! Lovely to see an alternative edit, even though I love the darkness of the original video, it's pretty great to have one in more colours now as well.
October 14, 20222 yr I’m guessing the lyric video for Move Over is next? Since that’s they plan to drop the live version one as well.
October 14, 20222 yr Wow!!! :o Nice alternative video, and irts crystal clear! They all look so young :o Imagine how much bigger their legacy would be had they relessed until 2002, handing over the reigns to Girls Aloud!
October 14, 20222 yr Author I’m guessing the lyric video for Move Over is next? Since that’s they plan to drop the live version one as well. Really hope so! :teresa: Their performance of it in Istanbul is ICONIQUE :cheer:
October 14, 20222 yr I’m guessing the lyric video for Move Over is next? Since that’s they plan to drop the live version one as well. No point wasting money on a lyric video for Move Over, just drop the footage from it on Youtube as a live music video.
October 14, 20222 yr No point wasting money on a lyric video for Move Over, just drop the footage from it on Youtube as a live music video. All tracks from their first two studio albums should have lyrics videos, so it's not a waste of money mind you.
October 14, 20222 yr Well, it’s not really a waste of money when they have the merch ready to be sold once the video drops (see SUYL and Step to me)
October 14, 20222 yr This isn't the album audio that will be dropping though it is the live audio from Instanbul and they have the footage to go with it. So when SW25 is released and it has a playlist on Youtube it will have the live video in the place of Move over to act as a music video for it.
October 14, 20222 yr Author Surely, they should have lyric videos to all their singles plus Step To Me and Move Over. But yes, I do hope they do the live video for Move Over when they release it next week!
