6. Lisa Scott-Lee: Electric

:ne: Average score: 7.4

:ne: Highest score: 11 (Rodent_boy)

:ne: Lowest score: 4 (Nina West)

> Up next we have the second song from miss Scott-Lee in this countdown. Just missing out on a top 5 placing although she did reach the top 10 this time. Released on oktober 10th 2005 we all know how this release went down..Lisa was desperate for top 10 and the producers of her reality show made sure they could take advantage of that. Yes, Lisa did sign up for it herself but boy oh boy..some bad television as been made at her expense. The song reached #13 in the UK in the end which forced her to quit the music business. Even a #13 in Scotland and #60 in Australia couldn’t save her. At least the song is appreciated here with a very respectable score. #justice for Electric <

Electric is one of those ok songs but forgettable to, but that interview really is gold especially knowing what the outcome was. Obviously im sure she thought it would def go top 10 as it was such a huge gamble what they done as we know it backfired. Maybe though they thought the previous singles missed the top 10 so either way it was a do or die single but in a situation like that she really needed something so so much better than electric.

I had Electric on repeat when it came out!

Underrated gem

I wouldn't say it's forgettable personally, I actually think one of the things it has going for it is that it's memorable - the song itself, but also everything surrounding its release! Obviously the public at large will have mostly completely forgotten about it, but honestly that could even be said about a lot of Steps songs too. However Electric is kind of legendary in pop cult circles, both the documentary and the song.

I loved it back then. Nowadays I don’t mind it, it didn’t age that well for me. And the show became a bit cringe to watch back tbh.
Electric got a lot of coverage at the time and its a shame it didnt go top 10, if it had i wonder what would have been next for Lisa.
