November 20, 20222 yr Author 1. Platinum Collection: It just pipes Gold for me as it has the old and new material together. The new songs are doable though. Not up to their regular standard. Lovely artwork. 2. Gold: Great collection and the new songs are ok! The artwork is nice, the styling on the front cover is a bit dull imo. I love the writing in the booklet about all their successes. 3. Ultimate collection: Gold plus a Dancing Queen version that doesn’t do much for me. I enjoyed buying it back then because there was a DVD added with all the videos. The artwork is non-existing…I’m very surprised this got to #1 and sold quite a lot. November 21, 20222 yr This is tough. Platinum obviously covers more but Gold had two additional ‘new’ songs. Two of them I love! Hmm will need to think a little more about it.
November 21, 20222 yr Author I also enjoy the new songs on Gold more. Still, PC just had the edge with the artwork/being the total collection.
November 21, 20222 yr I like all 3 as they essentially are great listening, gold covered what it needed to at the time but i do remember been so happy with how well it done, it was a huge success, the ultimate collection was special aswell as it returned them to number 1 and kinda got steps back into peoples mind again, the platinum collection was more that important number 1 covering the 3 decades and it does have loads more on it than the other 2 but all 3 albums played a big part in their chart stats
November 23, 20222 yr Has to be Platinum Collection, for having the most songs on it! Same, for the same reason.
November 23, 20222 yr I actually like Gold the most. While I like TPC having more content and across more years I don’t feel like it flows that brilliantly wheres Gold tracklisting is spot on.
November 23, 20222 yr Gold does flow very well but with so many songs for the platinum collection its always harder to get the flow right, interesting to see what will make the 2032 greatest hits release!!
November 25, 20222 yr Author I actually like Gold the most. While I like TPC having more content and across more years I don’t feel like it flows that brilliantly wheres Gold tracklisting is spot on. I do agree with that!

Ok so I’ve given it some time and I’ve settled on Gold. Whilst I love the Platinum Collection I do agree with the comments on the cohesiveness of Gold and how it slightly elevates it. Plus I love Only In My Dreams.
