Shocked Sam Fender isn't on there again x

Thrown a vote to Paramore. A lot of songs I like on here but not many that I love.

I've voted for This Is Why! 2am and Anti-Hero were close, quite a few other good ones in here too.
Pretty poor selection, I assume they’ve chosen songs that were HR from outside of Clara’s show?

Oh I dunno, much as I love to be the first to criticise R1 I think they've got a nice diverse and balanced selection here!

Surprised Megan Thee Stallion is there - I don't think they even playlisted "Her"??

I think the list is based on songs that were the 'hottest record in the world' on the Future Sounds show, which they don't always playlist - although I think 'Her' is actually the only one on this list that they didn't.

I don’t overly like to be critical but the ‘Future Sounds’ show has changed a lot if they had Taylor Swift as a HR one week. It used to be the old Annie Mac/Zane Lowe/Steve Lamac slot whereas it’s very pop now!

A quick look at what they play shows that it’s still very different to daytime R1 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001f2ny

I’m not sure AH was a Hottest Record anyway, I can’t see any evidence of it online.

Yeh I listen every week still, it is different of course but they music style is alot more pop or alt-pop now.

AH may well have been a HR on a weekend day as they do it all week now so they may have picked from all the HRs during the year rather than just Claras show.

Anti-Hero was definitely hottest record the Sunday after it came out, it was played twice during the First Look show (as hottest record at 6pm and then as the #1)

Ah ok, I was just thinking about HR on Future Sounds.

Her deserved so much more :( Not surprised it's last though unfortunately.
