I did put a fiver on Wham! for Xmas No.1 yesterday, so that's good to see from that perspective!

 

No doubt LadBaby will be back yet again, although if he does I reckon his sales will drop massively if so. Last year just felt like a natural conclusion? Getting Ed and Elton on it and breaking the record for most consecutive Xmas No.1s, I feel like if he keeps going it will be somewhat diluted but will still probably make it just about.

 

But if not, what else could stand in the way of Wham? Last year Ed and Elton's original did as well but that's not showing any signs at the moment of being half as popular as Last Christmas, which it needs to be. So Three Lions if England were to win the World Cup? If not, the media could hype something else up. But 50/1 did seem like a great price for Wham!

Yeah I really can't believe Wham!'s odds still haven't moved from 50/1, there's no way it's that unlikely.

 

They do seem to be a little further behind Mariah than they were at the same stage last year, but they've overtaken on Spotify on the same day (1 calendar date earlier actually, but the same Sunday) as they did last year so I expect they will still overtake her officially again too. And not like Mariah's odds are much better.

I noticed that ‘Sausage Rolls For Everyone’ is getting a little streaming support this year, it’s on Spotify’s ‘Christmas Crackers’ playlist which I believe is their main UK-focused one.

The pre-order for last year's song went live on the equivalent of this coming Friday, but there had been press reports of the track for a couple of weeks already. I've not heard a whisper this year, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to come of course. Not getting my hopes up for a LadBaby free year yet x
