SHE kicked off her solo career in 2021 with one of the most controversial debuts of all time.

Despite landing an epic collaboration with Nicki Minaj for No4 track Boyz, Jesy Nelson found herself swamped by accusations of cultural appropriation.

But after taking time out, the former Little Mix singer is ready to give music another go.

The Sun can reveal the Shout Out To My Ex singer will film the music video for her make-or-break comeback single next week.

The shoot will take place over two days at a top secret location with Jesy locking herself in rehearsals ever since returning from her loved-up holiday to Jamaica.

A source said: "Jesy knows the single has to be a hit and is giving her all in rehearsals.

"She has full choreography in the video so as soon as she got back from her holiday she has been going all out in the dance studio.

"Filming is all locked in and will take place over two days in a few days time."

After splitting with her record label Polydor last summer, it's thought Jesy is open to footing a large proportion of the bill herself.

Last week The Sun revealed how Jesy has grown close to rapper Zion Foster after jetting for a romantic holiday to Jamaica.

"Jesy is in a really great place right now and excited for what’s in store for next year.

I find it so difficult to dislike her if I’m being honest.

I love her voice and personality but so not her solo music style.

I wish her well though she certainly deserves an album release but if this bombs its likely no album will materialise.

I think out of pride, even though it’d be expensive she’d still drop the album even if the song flops knowing Jesy.

Really hoping the song is good and she can turn things around, it’ll be hard but we’ll see. Hoping she can get some good promo slots but that may be harder now she’s independent?

I’m also going to assume this is a solo song and not a collab…

the whole "Jesy knows this needs to be a hit" section is like a massive red flag, because it absolutely won't be a hit. her team isn't great, and just from a industry standpoint, I can't see it getting playlisting, going viral etc. Because not only is her public image damaged, with still no apology, or even acknowledgement, she just isn't good at making music. We've heard bits of 2 songs and 1 whole song and all 3 have been trash..

I really would love a live lounge, I need her to showcase her vocals, specifically on a ballad.

I've said it before, but the best way she could probably handle this now is just to focus on getting the music and album out. Announce a single, put out the album on pre-orders and hope for a high entry position. If it somehow goes well, continue to release singles but since it probably won't, just re-group and maybe jump on features if she wants to continue doing music.

If she's funding all this by herself and haven't gotten another label on board... oof. She'll need a team to push her onto radio at least as I suspect Radio 1 / Capital might not be as willing to playlist her this time around.

Hasnt dropped yet

It wasn’t expected to? She said the song was coming early next year and the sun said the video was being filmed this week or next.

She’s not going to release it now it’d just get lost in the sea of Xmas tunes.

Oh I misread. Waiting more than a year between releases SINGLE 1 and SINGLE 2 is almost unthinkable tbh

forget the UK baddie this is the UK Normani
