Thank god I was wrong about Cat Burns sweeping this and the BRITs. I reckon the top 3 will be FLO, Fred and Nia in some order.

I don’t get the fascination with Cat Burns while “Go” is fine other artists get called one-hit TikTok wonders.

Cat Burns is #4!

I think FLO are looking to be the most likely winner atm.

Same here Clara has given them a lot of support on the evening show over the past 6 months even though they sound quite polished and mainstream and there’s a huge gap in the market for a girl band so I’m sure there’s major label support behind them.

Think it’ll be Biig Piig, Asake and Dylan or Rachel for top 3!
Cat Burns felt like a one-trick pony with 'go' but I have really enjoyed 'people pleaser' and 'ghosting' too so there's definitely some potential there
'ghosting' was an ok song tbf but 'people pleaser' is just radio filler dullness. (Still better than 'go' but that's not hard x). She's really giving strong one hit wonder vibes so far with how much they've tried to push these songs and them not going anywhere. Always one algorithm jackpot away though I guess...
Has Cat Burns already had a huge #2 hit? Not sure how she's even eligible for this list. Fred Again also had a top 5 album.

They've changed the rules to allow artists who have had a bit more success already (I forget the exact specification - although iirc Central Cee was on the list even though he should have been ineligible even under the new rules lol)

Fab to see Nia in the top 3, she hasn't yet had a song that I've been totally obsessed with but I think she definitely has the potential to. 'Patience' w/ Mall Grab, 'No Time' w/ CLIPZ et al., 'Mash Up The Dance' w/ Watch The Ride, 'Baianá' and 'So Tell Me...' are all good tunes. Natural time for a jungle revival with all the drum n bass hits over the last year!

The prize is open to new artists, who have yet to score a top five album, or more than two top 10 singles by 31 October 2022. Artists who have appeared on TV talent shows within the last three years are also ineligible.
Yeah and Central Cee had already had a #2 album within the eligibility timeframe last year. Could only rationalise it by saying they didn't count that for being technically a mixtape.
Pretty sure FLO will win this (maybe a slight outside chance for piri & tommy), would rather it was Dylan though.
oh this Nia Archives has had a song on HH for weeks now, too bad it hasn't had any effect (it was too low)

Definitely glad Fred didn't win as much as I've loved his recent music, would have been a major copout.

I do think FLO are probably going to win now but it's kind of surprising that one of them and piri & tommy (or both) have missed the top 5!
