Does it hold up?: I still love this but I would probably not still rank it within the top from last year. I remember it being really close and anything between #11-16 could have been in my top 10 and I would say that Boyshit has definitely well overtaken this for me now amongst those tracks.

Does it hold up?: Yeah, still an absolute banger and, with it's short run-time, it's perfect for playing on repeat. NBA YoungBoy has certainly never sounded better and Ty's backing vocals are addictive.

Does it hold up?: It's not one I've had on repeat this year but the video remains one of the greatest of the 2020s and Dave's production is still great. Criminally underrated amongst both their discographies.

Does it hold up?: Yeah, I probably rinsed it a bit too much at the time that it doesn't hit quite the same anymore but it still bangs.

6. Olivia Rodrigo - Deja Vu

 

 

 

 

Does it hold up?: Yeah, this is still just a great, interesting pop song. It was brilliant to see her perform it live earlier in the year but it's not enough to overtake the other song still to come from her in my affections.

5. Digga D & AJ Tracey - Bringing It Back

 

 

 

 

Does it hold up?: This is still a huge banger and still the best rap track out in 2021. It's certainly stronger than anything either artist has released this year. I'm appreciating it even more after I have started spinning 1011's original 'Next Up' freestyle that Digga is recreating a fair bit this year.

Does it hold up?: I have had this on repeat all month due to the tour excitement so I've maybe even been enjoying it more now than I did last year. She killed the performance in the show but Money was somehow even better to hear live.

Does it hold up?: Obviously helped by being a late 2021 release but this is in my top 10 most played songs in 2022 so it's safe to say I'm not bored of it yet. Everything about this song just works so well, the three artists styles form together beautifully.

2. Maisie Peters - Psycho

 

 

 

 

Does it hold up?: Maisie has had another great year but this is still her biggest bop. Certainly the poppiest moment on her debut, but it perfects the bubblegum pop sound in a way not much else has done recently.

I have to admit I'd forgotten about Psycho! I agree with your comment about it being pure bubblegum pop.

New Shapes definitely lived up to the hype of a Charli/Caroline/Chris collab :wub: and deja vu is my favourite Olivia song!
