December 14, 20223 yr Although I do prefer 'Santa's Coming for Us' (one of the quirkiest Christmas hits ever) I'm glad 'Snowman' is likely to be top 40 for Sia. Luckily some of the Golden Oldies that I find tedious like 'Let it Snow', 'It's Beginning to Look like Christmas', 'Holly Jolly Christmas' have their streams split between more than one artist otherwise they'd be even higher in the charts.
December 14, 20223 yr Looks like Wham will easily stay number 1 for Friday, Ed and Elton doing really well again this year, but cant see them overtaking Mariah and Wham. We waited years for Wham and Mariah to go number 1 and now its likely they with both manage it at least twice, id love to see someone else do it in the future but its unlikely but id love to see fairytale of new york achieve number 1.
December 14, 20223 yr Thinking Raye defo now no. 1, since she has a smaller bridge to gap and on ACR spotify she is nearly 200k ahead
December 14, 20223 yr Thinking Raye defo now no. 1, since she has a smaller bridge to gap and on ACR spotify she is nearly 200k ahead Except last week she had a smaller bridge to gap (3,535 behind Wham! compared with 4,335 this week), and was further ahead on Spotify, and still didn’t bridge the gap - or rather only just caught Wham! Her streams on Spotify are almost identical to last week (the sped up mix has increased slightly), whereas Wham! are significantly ahead on Spotify compared with last week. Her biggest hope is that more data is missing at this stage this week than last week. If she gets to number 1 this week, I imagine it will have been close!

Listened to Sias Xmas album today for the first time this year and it grows each December, amazing original Xmas album!

I love every song on Sia's album but I really wish 'Ho Ho Ho' had been pushed - it's the very definition of a modern Christmas classic. I'm still harbouring some slither of hope that it will take off one of these years.
December 15, 20223 yr Needs a tik tok video Mango 🙄! And it is the sort of song you can imagine young uns making videos with too thinking it’s hilarious!
December 15, 20223 yr I see last week OCC singles charts had used Justin Bieber's photo for #1 All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey ( although corrected it now). Are both versions combined for charts since Justin has a duet with Mariah?
December 15, 20223 yr they won't be combined as Justin Bieber is the lead performer for his duet version.

December 16, 20223 yr I didn't dispute it would be big whatever but her constantly pushing it and pushing herself as Queen of Christmas has just added to the over exposure. I don't follow Mariah but I know it has several videos, she has done tv adverts, performs it at the opening of an envelope. The rest of the big Christmas songs are just left to do their thing by the artists. She released 2 videos and did one advert with Walkers to celebrate the songs 25th anniversary. It's clear you don't know what you're talking about as she has never ever performed the song on UK television. It's the public who make the song big.

However, her Halloween post this year was designed for publicity - a very clever publicity stunt. It worked well! Very few, if any, classic Christmas songs were being promoted by their artists back in November. She does seem to the outside world to promote her song every year now.

The "It's Time" videos came about after the public would ask her if it's time to start listening to AIWFCIY and she would say not yet. And we can't forget all the memes about her defrosting that start surfacing in October. Its not really comparable as no other song or artist gets as much attention at the start of the season. She plays into it but she is responding to the public.
