Posted December 13, 20222 yr What Christmas song would you have liked Steps to have a done a cover version of and released as single, back in the day when Steps were rolling in the hits, what cover do you think could have done well for them or more importantly what song could they have covered that would have really suited their sound. As they did a fair few covers back in the day its surprising they didn't actually release a full on Christmas cover. I know back then no one ever thought how streaming would come into play and resurrect Christmas songs annually.

December 14, 20222 yr They did a great cover of Merry Xmas everybody that is the one I'd go for. Otherwise I wish it could be Christmas everyday.

December 14, 20222 yr Author In a more current choice i sometimes think Kellys Clarksons underneath the tree or Britneys my only wish could possibly be very suited to Steps.

December 14, 20222 yr Author Last Christmas is one of those songs that just shouldnt be covered as so many love it, its a bit like all i want for Christmas is you. I did think of one more sleep myself but when i thought about it i couldnt really see it working for Steps for some reason,

I remember the first time I heard Last Christmas was when it was a b-side on Billie’s single release if She Wants You. Love it from first listen. Her version and the one from Wham! Are my favourite versions of that song.
December 15, 20222 yr Author Maybe as I've known the original for most of my life my opinion is different, I'm not a huge fan of the song in general but the original is the only version I can tolerate.
