On this date, 20 years ago... Steps announced their split :drama:

 

I remember being quite upset but also annoyed / felt slightly betrayed! (That may sound dramatic, but I was only 13 lol). I had spent most of Boxing Day reading their 'Gold' book, which ended with them talking about future plans for a new album. Then I was browsing teletext not long after and saw the split announcement news :lol:

In fairness, three of them did want to make a new album lol!

Oh, I wasn't a happy camper at all! Luckily they worked things out and we got much more (great) material in the end :heart:
