oh my that Em Beihold is the one who had that annoying Little Bug song a while ago

New entry at #85 today for Skrillex/Fred again../Flowdan from just a few hours of streams, so possibly the first biggish new hit of the year already?

That Cian Ducrot song is still not a big favourite for me but it is waaaay better than 'All For You' so don't mind it being another hit for him - the melody during the verses strongly reminds me of another song that I can't put my finger on though which is annoying.

 

Interestingly this is the first time he's ever been top 50 on Spotify, although 'All For You' was presumably there combined for a while.

I guess Amazon is responsible for Sub Focus appearing in the mids then (seems a bit random, feels more like an Apple hit than an Amazon one if anything) - guessing that and 'Firebabe' must be higher in the other version of the Amazon chart?

Ah cool, all starts to make more sense (though would still say Amazon is the more important factor as songs that low on Apple and not charting elsewhere usually wouldn't be top 100 overall let alone top 50)

 

Cool to see Sub Focus and Dimension getting another minor hit but I don't recall this song being anything special, need to relisten.

I can see that similarity too but that's not what I'm thinking of. I think it's another song by someone with a strong accent (not sure if it's also an Irish accent or something else, which I realise is not helpful :kink:)

 

It'll probably turn out to be something that only vaguely sounds similar tbh, that's the case half the time when I have these annoying moments of familiarity haha.

I figured it out - turns out it wasn't really someone with a strong accent at all and as expected it's not really that close of a match ('Landslide' is actually a lot closer haha), but it definitely is the song I was thinking of. It was Razorlight's 'America'. Glad to have got that annoyance out of the way :basil:

 

I think it's more the instrumental that is kind of similar, combined with the 'tone' of the vocals (not sure if that's the right word, I don't know music theory) moreso than the melody as well. So my description was just terrible and probably no one would ever have been able to get that if I didn't figure it out myself. :kink:

HH finally updated after 2 weeks frozen but think they only added the new Cian song towards the end but nothing else

but HH has now Central Cee as track #1 :/
