The song is doing the business everywhere and it's all come from a sped-up version being used on Tiktok. The question is, should Gaga release this sped-up version onto streaming sites or should she not, to perhaps maintain the attention on the original version?

Vote in the poll and discuss :o

I am alllllll about artistic integrity but this is really screaming out for a release now. It won't take anything away from the original, it will enhance it for new fans. And Gaga has done countless remix albums already so not like she's against remixes. Makes total sense to release it like... 4 weeks ago lmao?
My answer is no - I don't see how the sped-up version would be anything but collecting extra streams in the long run. Which would be fine if they decided to do it, but I don't see other big artists (The Weeknd, Taylor, Drake, Ariana, Adele etc doing it for their old songs so why should Gaga..)
Not Sour Candy being the only one to vote no. Wake up, they have to milk this song until there's no milk left.
You know Gaga's team and label suck when even Madonna, a 64-year-old lady, released a sped-up version of her viral song on streaming platforms while Gaga hasn't yet.

I feel like it's low effort but for high gains, so I'm sticking with yes!

The point is not to let opportunities slip away, whether you're a one-hit wonder like RAYE or an established legend like Madonna.

God only knows when Gaga will get another golden shot like this one so they better go all out on this song.

While Bloody Mary is doing great and it's unbelievable that it became such a viral phenomenon in the first place, the most important thing is that it has sparked a new interest towards Gaga's music among youger generation who weren't there in 2011. The impact is much bigger than the extra streams provided by official sped-up version.

But I am not strictly against the idea, more like "is it needed?" type of approach.

Except it's actually Interscope that Back That Up to the Beat is released on. :kink:

Not something I’m particularly bothered about but may as well if that’s what the people want. Stops fan-made versions popping up.

Madonna left Interscope in 2020 and re-signed with Warner in 2021, taking her entire catalog to Warner, so it was Warner that released her remixes, but her catalog is probably still under Interscope ownership due to bureaucratic issues.

I mean Gaga had 3 top 20 hits in the UK and 2 in the US in 2020, she is hardly missing out on opportunities to chart? If anything she should get her act together and put together a new album campaign instead if she wants more hits.

I'm talking about a big viral hit like Bloody Mary, not official eras.
