Any Shaky fans on here (besides the obvious)? What do people make of his cover of P!nk's 2003 song Trouble.

He won a reality show in 2005 called Hit Me Baby One More Time, which was a load of 80s and 90s acts trying to make a comeback singing their old classics and a modern cover version. Shaky had clearly retained his 80s fanbase, and won, getting the chance to release Trouble as the 'winners single'. It charted in the top 20, his first top 20 hit for 15 years, although of course he has one every year these days with the returning Merry Christmas Everyone.

I always thought this was quite an interesting choice of cover, not an obvious P!nk song to use, it was hardly her biggest hit. It suits him pretty well though, not a bad version. He was still shaking away with his usual energy too.

Yep, it was a real mix. 35 different artists took part and there were some very bizarre covers.

It wasn't dissimilar to Reborn In The USA, hosted by Davina McCall a few years earlier, with acts like Gina G, Dollar, Sonia and Tony Hadley, although that had more of a reality TV format.

Probably the first performance I'd ever heard a live vocal from Naima.

They really deserved a much bigger and better career, every one of their five top 10 singles is at least a 9/10 to me, and Celena was a superstar vocalist.

I agree! I love the Honeyz so much!

I wonder if Shaky had performed this on any of his tours since the cover came out lmao. I noticed they included it on his greatest hits album that I was checking in ASDA a couple of weeks back!

I bought that recently. Now we're back in Shaky season - the man who popularised the Christmas jumper.

Yeh love that Shaky charted as late as 2005 and well deserved as it’s a great cover!

Always wondered did Shaky make Xmas jumpers popular back in 85 as thought they were a real modern thing.
