You must get through an incredible amount of new music each week to judge this much :o I thought I did enough with 40-45 on my new playlist each week! Hopefully you continue with this, will be something I check out each week you post, although will generally be looking on Friday/Saturday to add stuff to the current weeks new one, for stuff I've missed from acts I've liked things by before, or from your top recommendations.

 

From last week I've added Fort Romeau, Julian Bracht, Sibewest and US Girls after a few listens.

 

Most of the ones I'm aware of on this weeks I'm not that bothered about, especially towards the top, found Arlo's very boring and disappointing and haven't properly clicked with any of the boygenius songs. Is U is the obvious outlier from the A-List, and the Future Utopia and Heartworms tracks are great lower down.

'Emily I'm Sorry' was actually my least favourite of the 3 boygenius tracks but I think that's because it's the most heavily Phoebe Bridgers featuring one of the 3 and something about her just doesn't really vibe with me historically oop :kink: (but I do like this song quite a bit of course, with all 3 being on at least my B-List!)

I think 'Atrás' was one I discovered via Jade's chart with her discovering it via yours :magic: although I do remember Daniela from a previous collab with Amnesia Scanner - this song is way better though, have to stan the intensity *.* (and ofc Marika was one I found directly through your chart and another fab SARAPATA production there). Think 'Dress' is my fave of the songs you highlighted here, Softcult have put out a few great singles recently and this is the best one so far for me <3

Haha indeed I go a little overboard on the number of songs with the trade-off being I don't really ever listen to many individual songs more than about 3 or 4 times. My music listening habits are basically either bombarding myself with new songs or throwing on a shuffle playlist to be randomly reminded of some of those songs I previously bombarded myself with. I think I'm quite good at judging songs on first listen though, obviously there are songs that are growers / anti-growers for me but I don't think it's too common to have huge changes in opinion beyond like a 2nd or 3rd listen (everything in my playlists I have listened to at least twice). This week's playlist is actually one of my longest to date (I was making these last year too - in a slightly different format - but just never posted them oops), the next one will be a little smaller.

 

I'm impressed with myself keeping consistent for what will shortly be a fourth week, will try my utmost to keep it up or at the very least avoid slipping by more than a day or so. Glad that you have found a few pretty good tracks from here already anyway and hope you'll enjoy at least a couple of the ones you highlighted from this one too! The Sibewest track seems to have been a pretty popular one from last week, hooray. In case you haven't seen it, Kath is doing a weekly series of 'electronic track of the week' polls in the Dance forum which both Fort Romeau and Julien Bracht featured in so that's a good resource to keep up with quality new releases from that scene.

 

(p.s. I found Arlo's previous music to be largely pretty boring while this one is a lot more interesting to me so swings and roundabouts!)
