A little disappointed as I thought with how big "Flowers" was it would open bigger. Perhaps they should've release the album a couple weeks earlier with a single released a week before? It's by no means bad though and is still a very strong debut especially for Miley! Plastic Hearts debuted at #4 with 15,318 sales. I can see her outdoing that, perhaps 20-25k and a #1 debut. Surprised at the lack of impact on Amazon so far - but I'm not sure how much that is to do with how gltichy their charts can be. Interesting to see how big of a debut "River" has. It's now top 10 on Apple Music, continues to climb on Amazon and I'm hoping it'll hold well/even climb on spotify (I expect it to be added to HHUK mid-week). The music video is doing good numbers and interested to see how high it debuts on the daily youtube views chart for the UK (covers the last two days). "River" could be a top 10 debut in the charts. "Jaded" may stand a good chance of going top 40 as well if it holds up well.

I definitely think it’s fair to have excepted Miley to do quite a lot better than she did considering the album is coming off the back of the one of the biggest streaming hits we’ve ever seen even if her past albums haven’t done as well. I feel like I’ve seen a lot of talk and discourse about this era similar to the biggest pop albums of the last few years so I thought that would translate into bigger streams

I mean the album could hold up well like Flowers did so definitely not a flop but I was for sure anticipating quite a bit more

Is there a worse case scenario than Flowers doing just enough off the album boost to stick at #1 for two more weeks and then Ed Sheeran sitting there for 9 bloody weeks?

Well her solo chart career kind of is.

'Like a Saviour' seems to be endlessly coming up on auto-play for me right now, even if what I'd just listened to was completely unrelated.

 

Is it the same for anyone else? I'd like to see that make a brief impact!

I'm pretty sure autoplay is enabled by default so I imagine you must have turned it off at some point. (I turned it off and then had it turned back on against my will a while ago and had to turn it back off lol)

My autoplay just plays songs I've been listening to. Maybe this autoplay is affecting free users as it's definitely not affecting me. However I do have two shuffle options now one normal and one which adds recommendations

 

If you click shuffle twice it goes to smart shuffle and adds songs you might like in the queue
