:hi: my turn for album pick again although I wondered whether to leave it a bit later in the week as I wasn't so sure what to go for but clearly my pick that I've settled on has been glaring at me to just go with and to be honest it is a fab album with brilliant singles so.. introducing Sophie Ellis-Bextor with her debut album Read My Lips. Released in 2001 and peaking at #2 on the album chart. It helped spawn her career with monster hits such as 'Take Me Home' and 'Murder On The Dancefloor' which are classics but also a shout out to the excellent 'Music Gets The Best Of Me' which is just as great. We know Sophie and this album gets discussed a fair bit on the forum as well also with thanks to her latest material which 'Hypnotized' came out of.

 

I remember listening to the album a lot when I was kid when I bought it and decided to use this as a good way to remind myself of it in it's whole duration as it's been since then I have heard it fully. What are your favourite memories of this album?

This was such a great debut indeed, fab choice.

 

I like everything on this but went for Final Move as my least favourite, I guess I don't actively hunt out that one to play.

Pretty much all the singles I know that she released after that are meh for me oops! But I’d be happy to give the full album a listen.

but they are all good/excellent. Of 'Groovejet' was in here with the actual version then it'd be 2 behind Murder!
