'God Of Rock & Roll' is out now.

That's a great 80s rock chorus (in fact the melody basically rips off 'Crazy Crazy Nights' by Kiss ) and thankfully it's much less cringey than the last single - although two consecutive singles rhyming 'rock and roll' with 'soul' is downright lazy! I'm not clear on which of the two songs is actually the single being pushed though as they've made videos for both of them. Not that it really matters as I can't see either of them getting much radio support - although the fact that the new single premiered on R2 could indicate that they might playlist it I guess?

I've got a couple of tickets for the Wolverhampton Civic Halls gig on Fri 16th June and I can no longer go - if anyone would like these (at less than face value obviously!) then please PM me.

Having listened to the album twice now, I can definitely say it's my least favourite McFly album to date. That's not to say there aren't some great songs on it ('I'm Fine' and 'Honey I'm Home' are obvious highlights which I'll definitely be returning to) but the quality of songwriting just isn't up there with that of previous albums. It's like they're trying so hard to make an authentic rock album that they've forgotten to write good lyrics and melodies. I'm sure it will grow a bit with repeated listens, but yeah definitely a disappointing return from one of my all-time favourite bands.

Feel completely the opposite. I think it’s their best album since radioactive, and I loved the last two albums. Finally showcases their musicianship, and for me there’s not a single track i want to skip, unlike in the last 2.

Hope it does well for them.

How come they have reduced the price to £4.99 when they are so far off number 1? Surely if they know they aren’t getting no. 1 they might as well sell at full price. Unless there’s more sales to be added tomorrow that’ll close the gap?

Maybe reducing the price isn't always about trying to get a #1?

They've now also released a digital deluxe version of the album featuring 4 new tracks including... finally a studio version of 'Silence Is A Scary Sound' :o
