They were still there for a few years in a Harry Potter tri-wizard cup theme but they got ripped out for some absolute bullshit non-event of a ride. They were such great coasters

Doh! That's a shame, I loved them (and Hulk)!

Thank you for the playlists, all embedded <3 (Apple Music only worked when I added it to my library for some reason, but they should be there now)

Omfg that Mariner's song might br a winner contender????

I know right :cheeseblock:

I fear I should have pushed more for the BAFTAs thing to be vetoed :kink: sorry if someone ends up being 21st behind that x

(It was flagged for veto discussion and passed though so fair is fair x)

I thought the name Curve seemed familiar and I've just realised why, 'Fait Accompli' was a great 90s TOTP discovery. So consider me hyped to hear Cumulonimbia ^_^

just finished listening to Semi 1 and god there was no clear direction lol...it is a very diverse semi, lots of highs with lots of lows equally.

I have 15 songs that I think I will vote but will wait to do another listen (hopefully listening sesh whenever that is happening).

Last but not least, big hype to Aeroche, Lotunia, Scotland 2 and Cor Lupus...entry envy much lol <3

Edited by Addy!

normally I'm scared for novelty entries in BJSC bc a lot of the time they fail to justify their existence but after watching it through UVLand's entry is a work of art
My song is maybe a bit lowkey to stand out from the crowd on first listen but it's also twice as short as many of my entries so can yous listen to it twice pls x

A work of art is right!!!

An-ge-la Bassett did the thing!

:frankie:

Anyway am thinking Monday and Wednesday for the SyncTubes, hope that will work for people x

Angela Bassett may have done the thing but it was the way she segued into We Are Family and the video cutting out at the “CHOO” that got me

Great to finally see a BJSC winners medal next to Chez Wombat’s username!

I also never noticed on closer inspection that it’s a guy with a microphone, I seemed to always think it was an artist for some reason.

Fire & Ice themes

I think my semi looks very promising, from names. Second semi too, honestly, just I recognise Ciao Ciao* and have been forced to :frankie: w/regards UVland.

*actually with that and Hoida Mut, feels like a little while since we had Euro rejects unless I forget something.

There's actually technically 3 Eurovision rejects in this contest! Although the other one is a rather strange case - Tartford's entry came 6th in the UK's national selection in 1982 and then inexplicably became a minor hit in the USA 7 years later. Really curious as to how that happened.

(and that's the 2nd time this year that a pre-millennium UK Eurovision reject has been sent after Energia in BJSC 151 )

I didn't actually realise this was a UK Song For Europe entrant when I entered it

According to Wikipedia this actually made No.110 in the U.S at the time before getting to No.75 in 1989. It appeared in a film Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (no, me neither) but that appears to be the reason it did well.

Didn't know this! How bizarre. I really need to get round to watching all of the 80s and 90s Song For Europe shows.

I sent Sister Sway - Until You Saved My Life to the Pop Forum Song Contest last year too, which was a UK reject in 1999.

Envious of AH sending an artist starting with Q, Q and X are the only letters of the alphabet I have yet to use as an artist representing us  The hunt for decent Q and X artists continues for me.

I completed my A-Z including spinoffs by sending UFO95 to the last Masquerade but still need a U artist in the main contest - have somehow managed to send 2 different Q artists (Quirke and Quadeca)! (Also still need a main contest Z lead artist, have sent Zhang Le as a feature though, and zalagasper to a spinoff)

Geekery aside: SyncTube for semi 1 coming up at 8pm today, hope to see a decent number of people there B-)
