April 19, 20232 yr Author It's started! Honestly I think this is my favourite of all the franchises bar none. A stellar first episode with heartwarming and shady moments, with twists that aren't cringey (both a returning queen from a past season AND the promise of some kind of 'game within a game' returning episode, meaning the first out queen won't lose all the money spent on their package with only a one episode showing!) I'm so excited to see how this season proceeds. My winner prediction after episode 1 is between Pitita and Pakita!

April 20, 20232 yr really underwhelming first episode! i guess i had mega high expectations after the last two seasons but i find them all to be pretty lacklustre so far, and the talent show was full of messy performances. ariel rec would have been HIGH/WIN this ep if she was on this season.
April 24, 20232 yr I think that was quite possibly one of the most bizarrely judged episodes of Drag Race ever? How do you win a dance challenge by eating a piece of bread…. What kind of a challenge is just “copy the choreo for SloMo” and why did they act like Clover didn’t win by miles…I don’t know why they didn’t just do a normal girl groups challenge if they wanted to pay homage to Eurovision etc. just like UK and Sweden both did. That’s the thing that always drags this iteration of the franchise down for me, the judging can be really picky and odd and make no sense, it’s not always clear what they want really and I thought the way they tore down Clover’s runway was nasty tbh. She was so far and beyond in that mess of a challenge that even if she had a runway disaster which she absolutely didn’t, I think she still should have won! I really don’t know what the point was of a challenge to just basically copy choreo, when they just give the win to someone for eating a piece of bread and coming out looking like… that.
April 24, 20232 yr Author So, I read a bit about this & I think it is a poor translation. The challenge was for them to interpret the song *as their own drag persona* as if they were at Eurovision, whereas a lot of them panicked and took the challenge as 'imagine your drag character was literally Chanel/Chanel's backup dancer'. The only queens that actually did what they wanted from the challenge were Pink Chadora, Hornella, Kelly, and Chanel Anorex. Arguably Clover did it too but as her persona is similar to Chanel anyway it was hard to tell & she didn't do enough to 'drag it up'. However since it was judged in teams Hornella & Kelly couldn't place above safe bc Pakita and Vania were obviously in the very bottom. PersonI think Chuchi was unlucky to fall in there with them as imo she wasn't the worst performer there.
May 1, 20232 yr Pink Chadora is insufferable I cba Clover didn’t deserve low at all imo, she’s getting the Juriji treatment. By no means was she amazing across all 3 looks but The Macarena and Pink Chadora (if only for that hateful final wig) at the very least were worse imo. Clover is really good at selling whatever she wears and that counts for a lot, I think a fair few of them struggled with the design aspect when you look at details so if it comes to that, she easily deserved safe. I love when a queen kinda knows they don’t look the BEST but commit to it anyway, that goes a long way in a design/runway challenge imo. WIN Pitita HIGH Pakita, Visa LOW The Macarena BTM Kelly, Chanel Tbh I could have put Macarena bottom over Chanel but she did try and sell her last look tbf, and the lipsync we got could have easily been a double sashay oop. Solid ball all in all though, Pitita absolutely DEMOLISHED. That first look was jaw dropping and everything I love about drag as an art form, so creative and out of the box.
May 1, 20232 yr Author In my opinion we're 3 for 3 :D Looking forward to finding out what the comeback challenge is & I'm loving the lowkey drama of the season. Ana Locking is also an absolute gift! Also I'm shocked that Kelly Roller is growing on me. A crunchy one note seeming roller skating queen! But she killed that lipsync cartwheel ON WHEELS! (I'm just now wondering is her name a play on Kelly Rowland lmao) I didn't actually like the final look of Pitita this time - I preferred Pakita. I do think still that Pitita wins this season however. She is doing so well sewing with 2 broken fingers as well!

May 23, 20232 yr Pitita definitely wasn’t totally undeserving of the win, especially with that runway, but it was really odd that for two weeks in a row that Hornella and Vania deserved a win and neither got it! If they really want to make the runway matter, they should do a Drag Race Thailand format where there’s a runway winner as well as a challenge winner for non design/ball challenges. That way you can highlight someone’s great runway without just giving them a win for it, although being high and praised for it should also be enough surely. Pitita did well in the Rusical, and definitely stood out being grouped with Pakita and Visa who did easily the worst, but definitely wasn’t better than Hornella or Vania for me, or even Bestiah tbh. And she already got 2 wins, so why not reward Hornella or Vania who have been building momentum this whole time. What’s really leaving a bad taste for me is the treatment of Clover, for them to go “you did well and we love your outfit but let’s put you in the bottom :)”… She did absolutely fine in this Rusical and they seem intent on tearing her down. After Juriji last season it’s kind of giving misogyny? Great cast this season but it is being marred by this judging and favouritism. For me the winners should have gone: Talent: Pakita (or Bestiah) Choreo: Clover Ball: Pitita Acting: Pitita Snatch Game: Hornella and Vania Rusical: Hornella
May 24, 20232 yr 100% agree with your challenge winners liam. pitita is still my fav (visa is a close second esp after this week’s drama lol), but she is being favoured enormously. it’s strange to me that production is favouring her then airing the bits of all the other queens calling her out though! it’s a weird edit that makes me feel like she’s not gonna win overall. also if visa next week just purposefully bombs to throw pititia in the bottom i will be LIVING. icon behaviour.
May 28, 20232 yr Clover was robbed BLIND, I think they knew she’d choose Visa and they didn’t want that :lol: Vania was great and it’s nice to see her get a win after she feasibly could have had at least one of the Rusical or Snatch Game, but Clover did so well introducing everything and keeping the lineup together, she was hilarious in a challenge that you don’t expect to be her thing. She turned it around from nobody choosing her to being the highlight of it and that would have been so satisfying, especially with her journey so far on the show. Pitita is increasingly really unlikeable imo, she is killing it other than this week, but I can’t lie I would have kind of lived if she was the shock elim of the season… I think her and Pink Chadora were easily the worst so it’s a shame for Pakita to go when usually she wouldn’t be in the bottom, but she has definitely plateaued compared to her strong start. Kelly returning is so pointless since I feel like she’ll be be in the bottom/go again asap.

May 29, 20232 yr Weird judging this week. Clover was supposed to win, what a way to f*** her over. A shame that Pink Chadora was eliminated, double elimination was not needed at all and surely Kelly is going next week. What a waste of an episode but they seem to go out of their way to crown Pitita in the end especially with Pink Chadora now out of the picture. Meh.

Her lipsync was nothing special either. Pitita’s storyline is very much giving me Tyra/Violet, young fashion queen who rubs everyone up the wrong way. They seem to have decided that they want a different type of winner again, which is fine, but they could have easily have Hornella airy 2 wins at this point (Snatch and Rusical) as another front runner, because they’ve refused to give Clover and Hornella in particular their flowers, it’s feeling very much like a one horse race and this always seems to happen with España so the latter part of the season suffers, although this was great TV. Imagine if they made the pairs from the challenge lipsync though and Visa beat Pitita and sent her home omfg
May 30, 20232 yr Author I've heard that apparently in between this season and the previous season of DRES, some of their story producers and staff were changed, which probably is impacting this season's storylines.
