April 27, 20232 yr Yeah it’s such a let down. Have they ever said what inspired the direction of this album? Id say at the time they just were happy to get the opportunity to record again as a group and not a huge amount of thought went into it. Not an album worth returning to but maybe its a part of the jigsaw that lead to the great comeback that was ahead.

April 28, 20232 yr Author #2 Steptacular As OFS predicted, Steptacular is my #2. First, it’s not that I hate or don’t enjoy this one! It’s just that I like this one the least out of all the albums left. Why? Some of the tracks didn’t age that well for me (see the songs in this countdown for example). I also think there’s too much H on the vocals. Back then he was using his voice in a way I don’t enjoy. Sure, this album also has a lot of highs (like LGAHOMH ). But..the lows are a big low for me so sadly Steptacular got to this position Thoughts? Edited April 28, 20232 yr by Lee_his_cheeks
April 28, 20232 yr I agree with parts of this. - Too much H in parts - The lows are big but the not as many of them as other albums for me. Just a very middle of the order albums for me from them. There are some songs I absolutely love but then some I’m not fussed on. It’s dropped down my order over the years sadly.
April 28, 20232 yr Author 100% the same! It’s definitely not a bad album. Time hasn’t been kind and the other albums are (a lot) better imo.
April 30, 20232 yr I feel like in a way you can tell Steptacular was thrown together in a hurry, some of the tracks on there are the prime definition of filler.
April 30, 20232 yr I do agree about steptacular, I do like the album but it does have alot of filler and it was likely very rushed to build on the huge success of Step One but it worked well for them at the time. Maybe it put a few people off buying Buzz aswell if they felt like that at the time as although buzz was successful there was a big decline in overall sales. Strangely at the time I thought buzz was a disappointing follow up to steptacular but now I completly disagree with myself as buzz is a better album but that's more down to time been much kinder to the buzz material.
April 30, 20232 yr That’s because a lot of it is filler. Wasn’t LGAHOMH literally picked up from the cutting floor, edited and put together on the quick?
April 30, 20232 yr Author I don’t know tbh? Buzz stood the test of time imo. There’s more room for a ‘mature’ and experimental sound.

I can't say I've ever heard that lol... are you sure you didn't invent that one, due to your dislike of it :teresa: No!! I think an old mutual friend told me! I heard it was a Step One leftover. Not sure where or when I heard that though. Maybe my imagination made it up.
May 1, 20232 yr No!! I think an old mutual friend told me! Was it me? Who probably did what Jay suggested you did...
