Posted May 16, 20232 yr Survivor is finally set to return to the UK after over 20 years, and we finally got our first look at it the other day! w9AHNbeSr-o
July 15, 20232 yr Yay looking forward to it! Brits definitely give the drama and entertainment factor. Hoping it's gonna be good with the Australian and South African versions seemingly on hiatus now!? 💔
October 28, 20231 yr Super excited for this! I feel like it will be great if it just follows the original format.
October 28, 20231 yr Great first episode! I hadn't seen Survivor before tonight, but I'm hooked already. Was definitely rooting for La Nena more when they were lagging behind at the beginning with the rafts, so was good to see them do so well the rest of the episode. Ended up watching the second episode on iPlayer (waiting a week to find out what happens next is gonna be the worst ), and I'm so invested. Wary of posting spoilers, but overall quite happy with the outcome. Christopher and Lee are both coming across like great characters and team players at the moment, and Jess is just iconic. But I love how much Doug is playing both sides in La Nena, won't lie :kink: A ranking of them all going by the first two episodes ~ 1. Christopher 2. Lee 3. Jess 4. Doug 5. Laurence 6. Matthew 7. Nathan 8. Pegleg 9. Rachel 10. Hannah 11. Tinuke 12. Ren 13. Shai 14. Leilani 15. Rach 16. Sabrina 17. Ashleigh 18. Richard
October 29, 20231 yr Watched the first two episodes, pretty good start! The US iteration can be quite chaotic but I like that this is still fast paced but back to basics, things are pretty interesting already. I like that there is some sense of strategy and alliances already, I worried this might be like civilian I’m A Celeb as you don’t see gameplay that much on UK TV if at all, but it’s promising so far! It would have been so easy to just go for whoever was worst at the challenges or were weaker links, but you can see that on the whole, they’re thinking about everything a player can bring. Loving Jess, Tinuke and Doug so far, Pegleg and Lee give me bad vibes but I’m hoping they’re strong/aggressive players that end up as targets. Survivor is really a social game, so I just think they feel like they will focus too much on challenges and powering through rather than actually building connections and strategising. This is a promising start, for sure, I think it suits having a couple of episodes a week too.
October 31, 20231 yr I love how they've used tribal council music from the South African series  Not a fan of the constant music and presenter talking throughout. Lee's accent is too much, I need subtitles Jess and Tinuke are great. Doug is FIT 🔥
November 7, 20231 yr Happy La Nena managed to claw it back and win another immunity challenge in the end! I can't help but think there was something so off about the reward challenge though - like wtf at the likes of Lee, Pegleg, etc just being defeated so easily and practically letting the other tribe ring the bell? Will be interesting to see how the dynamics change now though and what happens when Leilani goes over to La Nena  1. Christopher - 1-1- 2. Lee - 2-2- 3. Doug - 4-3- 4. Jess - 3-4- 5. Ren - 12-5- 6. Laurence - 5-6- 7. Matthew - 6-7- 8. Nathan - 7-8- 9. Rachel - 9-9- 10. Ashleigh - 17-10- 11. Tinuke - 11-11- 12. Hannah - 10-12- 13. Pegleg - 8-13- 14. Shai - 13-14- 15. Leilani - 14-15- 16. Rach - 15-16- OUT Sabrina - 16-x Richard - 18-x
November 7, 20231 yr I’m finding this a bit boring now tbh, kinda fell off just in two episodes  It seems to just be vote off the women because they are ostensibly worse at the challenges. Where is the actual strategy?! Lee and Pegleg being adamant to vote off the women when Pegleg didn’t do that well at a couple of challenges either, and they both barely tried in the bell ringing things. I’m almost certain with the way they’re going, Leilani is straight out as soon as La Nena go to tribal again. I suppose perhaps strategy might come later when the tribes merge and they actually think about winning, but right now it’s just drawn out, boring, and Joel narrating everything comes across as patronising when it’s a pretty basic format and the same shit happens every episode  Survivor can be so chaotic and fast paced, this feels dull and it drags, I suppose it’s finding its feet and you can’t expect classic Survivor right away nor should we maybe compare, but for what the format can be, this just isn’t really giving.
November 8, 20231 yr OMFG I didn’t realise it was her When your husband comes home early, to find you sucking on a curly wurly, Leilani Shakespeare
November 11, 20231 yr I'm enjoying it so far but Lee needs to get in the bin. Him being out would stop this whole misogynistic approach of La Nena and we could actually possibly see some strategy emerge.
November 11, 20231 yr This is INFURIATING “Shai is playing a game” IT IS A BLOODY GAME. A bit more strategy seems to be emerging with Caleton, the social game part seemed to be a bigger part of this episode instead of thinking about the physical aspect of challenges only, hopefully that continues as I found this episode more enjoyable due to that.
November 11, 20231 yr Jess having one-sided beef with Shai is like Maddy vs Wilfred in The Traitors except this is entirely unsubstantiated
November 11, 20231 yr Tinuke is easily my fave here, she’s the only one I feel is playing a game that remotely resembles Survivor alongside Doug! She’s smart so I hope she lasts. Ithink Jess with Shai is at least a bit of social game tbh, she knows people are annoyed by him and she at least had a plan in place thinking about the voting numbers and what might happen, but she is far too singular just thinking about Shai. A big issue for me is the editing, like we see that they all randomly hate Shai but you don’t really see why, they spend far too long on samey physical challenges and not enough time seeing the social dynamics and actually getting to know the people. It’s kind of simultaneously rushed and drawn out? There also hasn’t been any big moves really, no blindsides, or anything you couldn’t call happening. Even when they pull out the usual Survivor twists like tribe swaps, I feel like it hasn’t shaken up the game much, idk it’s just the more episodes go by, the more you notice so many pieces aren’t in place.
November 13, 20231 yr 1. Christopher - 1-1-1- 2. Lee - 2-2-2- 3. Doug - 4-3-3- 4. Matthew - 6-7-4- 5. Jess - 3-4-5- 6. Tinuke - 11-11-6- 7. Ren - 12-5-7- 8. Nathan - 7-8-8- 9. Laurence - 5-6-9- 10. Ashleigh - 17-10-10- 11. Hannah - 10-12-11- 12. Rachel - 9-9-12- 13. Shai - 13-14-13- 14. Leilani - 14-15-14- 15. Pegleg - 8-13-15- OUT Rach - 15-16-x Sabrina - 16-x Richard - 18-x A shame Ren's game fell apart this week with the fish still coming up  Doug getting away with it (and being the one with the idol!!) and just jumping over to Caleton is iconic though. I do feel we're getting to a point now where the only way they're gonna be able to keep this as exciting as it has been is if there's proper shock eliminations at tribal council, because there are very clear deadweights in both tribes.
