Don’t Say Militancy is such a J Hus album title

Really looking forward to this one, it feels like it's been ages since he's released anything.

I'm thinking he will get another top 10 single and (depending on the release week) #1 album which would be great.

"Murder Gives Me A Boner"

Lyric of the year contender, one only Hus could get off with saying

Or for worst rap lyric ever possibly.

but is it as iconic as “I’d be a genius if I didn’t think with my penis”?

Surprise! A long-rumoured Drake collab called 'Who Told You' has been released a few minutes ago. It seems like the album will be releases at a later date.

Wow yesssssss, much better than It’s Crazy. Hopefully this breaks into the Top 10!

I definitely do get the appeal of this one, it's a very summery song made for the sunshine and that chorus/hook is infectious. So much so that I just listened twice in a row, it gives me early 00s vibes, mixed with South African house (the beat isn't quite amapiano but I can see that's the inspiration).

Could do without the Drake verse personally, he couldn't sound more tired and bored on it and the vocal production doesn't sound as crisp as the rest of the song? Would have preferred to hear another J Hus verse. Hopefully he'll put out more mixes without Drake on it, or someone else.

It's interesting that we went so long without any massively mainstream UK rap songs and then we get two huge tracks in consecutive weeks.

Someone's made this - much better

The Drake collab is fine on first listen. But it's nowhere near as good as 'It's Crazy'. I'm loving the horrorcore, almost 'Gravediggaz-esque' vibes on that while 'Who Told You' just feels a bit bland.

On multiple listens, 'Who Told You' is sounding worse and worse. Drake's verse is mixed horribly and just meanders on quite tunelessly. Hus's parts feel like he's on autopilot too.

It's obviously going to be a huge smash because of the summer vibes and the excitement of a big UK/North American rap collab is still high but it's such a stepdown from 'It's Crazy' and any track from 'Common Sense' and 'Big Conspiracy'.

It's his first big misstep for me. So weird as he usually has brilliant quality control. I haven't really seen any of the general reaction but I can't see it appealing to his core fans at all.

So, there has been an interesting set of updates in the past few days.

- It will most likely drop this Friday

- It is 19 tracks long

- It has 8 features (Drake is obviously going to be one of them, with the possibility of CB and Burna Boy too)

- It is actually not called 'Don't Say Militancy' (what a shame, I loved the title)

The album is called 'Beautiful and Brutal Yard' and will be released on 14th July.

I'm just hoping the Drake track is a one-off and the rest will be up to his usual standard. I'm particularly excited for the Jorja collab.
