What a predictable, naff list.

well seeing as its an almalgmation of a load of lists, maybe list should be plural

P!nk, Nerina, and Amy Winehouse are the Albums of the Year in my opinion :D

I don't see how Lily Allen is on there :puke2:

Have none of those albums, but I imagine Fratellis album would be quite good :D

some of them are good, but I would put none in my albums of the year, thats reserved for the wonderful return of Bat Out Of Hell, 2 efforts each from Ayumi hamasaki & the Nakanomori BAND, beyonce's latest album and the latest nas album.

& what about the critically acclaimed 'Oral Fixation vol 2' which was released her in February [i count it as a 2005 album so it doesnt appear in my 06 chart]

Feck Off

Number 1 in my personal Hate Chart this year was Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind - so you can just go and disappear back to you know where. Mind you I agree I hate acts like Infernal, Cascada, PCDs, Rihanna who are pop spelt P.A.P. and there are way to many people on this site who think the likes of the Beatles and David Bowie are rubbish which is just ludicrous.

As for Lily Allen - LDN & Littlest Things made my Year end Top 100, which is surprisingly one more than she managed on BBC6 Music's Top100 as voted for by their listeners today.

As The Word magazine sums her up - "She is this generation's Wendy James". Back in the late 1980s when Wendy James came upon the music scene she slagged off contemporaries like the Pet Shop Boys, Morrissey, John Lydon and savaged Kylie Minogue. She also (infamously) said that she was better than Madonna and compared herself to Deborah Harry (Blondie). Remember Transvision Vamp followed up commercial & critical success with a long delayed follow-up album which failed to make the Top75 in the early 1990s before imploding.

lol :P

I know you don't like a lot of these but I was talking about the site as a whole. So many people hate Lily Allen yet claim Paris Hilton, Rachel Stevens and Lindsay Lohan to be amongst the best artists of the decade... :manson:

And forgive me if I'm wrong but I listened to 6Music's list and I'm sure that BOTH Smile and LDN were top 40?

from the list i would go with Lily

my faves this year would be :

Christina - Back To Basics,Beyonce - B'Day,Rogue Traders - Here Come The Drums, Lily Allen - Alright..Still, Muse - Black Holes & Revelations, INXS - Switch, Evanescence - The Open Door

Think Wendy James has turned up a few times in word's worst of lists. think she won the most unsexy popstar ever list.

then again i think transvision vamp were mentioned in billboard in a long blondes interview last month. well i think it was that

well Gerard Way just discovered Mew so it wasnt him

Westlife surely can't be in a poll in the ''Singer/SONGWRITER'' forum, where they sing love songs written by other artists such as Lionel Richie.

Anyway,

Morrissey - Ringleader Of The Tormentors, gets my vote despite it not being there

outta them i would say Lily Allen or Arctic Monkeys ;)

but of 2006 i would say Corinne Bailey Rae, The Feeling, Cassie, Keisha White, James Morrison and Justin Timberlakes albums have all been great

Having bought Joanna Newsom's Ys album - That is definitely the best album on the list.

Five tracks = 55 mins long. A fantastically challenging neo-classical/folk/emo music "recorded" by Steve Albini and featuring orchestral arrangements by Van Dyke Parks pushing the boundaries of the medium that is popular music.

No wonder the likes of David Bowie, Brian Wilson, Kate Bush, Jack White & Jarvis Cocker have namechecked it in year-end lists.
